History in Living Colour - Friday, Period 3 (Week 7)

"Welcome back!" the Doctor said as he met the students in the Danger Shop. This week, it looked like a dockside. "Glad to see you're all in one piece. Well, more or less. Good work on not getting killed in Japan during the last class. I know you have parents and guardians and all those people you'd rather be avoiding coming soon, so let's keep this one short so you can , shall we?

Welcome to Boston, Massachusetts. 1773 is the year, the Boston Tea Party is the event. For those of you unfamiliar with American history, this tea party is not all Earl Grey and scones. This is the day when the American colonists decided that a little mayhem and destruction was in order to prove a point about being taxed like mad to the British government, who were in charge of the America colonies at the time. Crates of tea were thrown into the harbour or destroyed, which is a complete waste of good tea if you ask me, and this is one of the major events that sparked the American Revolution or American War of Independence, leading to the formation of the United States of America as an independent nation.

There's the background. You're on your own from here. You could help the colonists, help the soldiers or go and get a doughnut from the bakery in town. Not the holographic Boston, the real town. If you do go, I'd like a Danish. Something with fruit."

Robin wasn't sure how to deal with parents weekend. He knew his uncle Kermit was coming, but given recent events, he didn't know if he should try to put on a happy face or not.

Was he up to the mass socializing? Shouldn't he be paying attention to the class?

It made sense to Adam to help the colonists. Besides, if this event hadn't happened, who knows how history might have gone?

Well, now. A proper young English girl such as herself had only one choice: lifting her knife, standing with the soldiers, and wondering if she was allowed to carve up some colonists in class.

Wasting tea like that. Really.

Dick was here, wondering whether or not he could pull off a convincing Boston accent. He was pretty sure he could.

Peyton was here too. It's not like she had anyone coming from home, so she really didn't care how long the class lasted.
