fandomhigh | The Club Fair; the Gym; Friday Afternoon [ 10/03 ]

Turtle had been more than happy to volunteer to get help with setting up for the club fair all morning, with all the tables and posters and sign up clipboards and refreshments and subtle product placement from Turtle & Canary. There was even a great big board by the door boasting the Club Schedule.

It was a little sad to have to leave the mecca of organization she had created to attend Student Council, but she was back quickly after to get the club fair started. And scurry over to her own table.

[[ ~~Each~~ Most clubs will have two threads: a promotion table for interaction with the club head(s) and an OOC sign up sheet to join the club. A few clubs have an exception or two, and those exceptions will be pointed out in the thread. ]]

[[ ETA: Soooo, I made a little "oops" on the schedule, and there actually ARE no 3pm classes. So ignore those Xs. If it helps anyway, 1pm = Fourth Period, 2pm = Fifth Period, sorry about the mix up and any confusion! ]]

"Okay, mom," she teased back. "So, what are you joining?"

"Just the frat so far," he said. "Dunno if I'm up for anything else. Busy social life and all." Not that busy. "What about you?"

"Well, apparently your shirtless campaigning helped because I made Student Council," Joan said. "And I'm going to try out for the cheerleading squad."

Against her will, but who's counting.

"Congratulations," he said and grinned. "And cheerleading? Really? Oh, my dreams are answered. I wasn't sure if they'd do cheerleading here."

Joan chuckled and flushed slightly. "Yep, the girl manning the booth has her uniform on and everything."

"Ooooh." Hannibal pondered a trip over there. Later. "You ever been a cheerleader before?"

"I tried out for the squad at my old school and made it," she said. "But, I ended up not staying on. There were some... issues."

"Skirts too long?" Hannibal teased.

"Yeah, that was totally it," Joan said, not wanting to get into the real reasons she had left. "So, you know, I'll give it a shot again."

"I don't know anything about this squad but I'll be happy to be there and cheer you on," he said and smiled. "Encourage however I can and all."

"You know, I'm pretty sure they let boys on the squad," she pointed out. "You should try out too."

"I...don't know about that," he said, looking unsure. "I'm not the most agile guy."

"Aw, come on, it will be fun," she encouraged. "Besides, you'd look totally hot in the uniform. And you'd probably get to toss girls around."

"You don't even know what the uniforms look like!" Hannibal laughed. "Is there a shirt requirement? Polyester?"

Joan wrinkled her nose. "Hopefully not polyester. And there's probably a shirt requirement for official stuff, but I bet you could practice shirtless."

She was pretty sure no one would object that that.

"Hmm." He still wasn't sure how he'd feel about being a cheerleader but there were definite benefits. "You know, I can't do the splits. I'd break something important."

"I can't do splits either," Joan assured him. "I don't think normal people are designed to bend that way."

"Right!" Hannibal agreed quickly. "Really, while I may like bendy people, there is just no reason to make your body do that. It's just painful."

"So will you at least think about trying out?" she asked, batting her eyes cutely.

"For you, I'll think about it," he said and nodded. "No promises but I'll wander over there and check it out."

Joan smiled. "You're so much cooler than my real big brother."

Okay, Kevin was pretty cool most of the time. But still.

"Aww." Hannibal put a hand over his heart and grinned. "If I were a swooning man, I'd be swooning right over now."

"Well, I think I'm glad you're not a swooning man then," she said. "Because I would hate to see you fall over and get hurt."

"You'd just have to catch me," he told her. "Make sure I stayed uninjured."

"I would do my best to catch you," she said. "But you're a tiny bit bigger than me."
