The Club Fair; the Gym; Friday Afternoon [ 10/03 ]

Turtle had been more than happy to volunteer to get help with setting up for the club fair all morning, with all the tables and posters and sign up clipboards and refreshments and subtle product placement from Turtle & Canary. There was even a great big board by the door boasting the Club Schedule.

It was a little sad to have to leave the mecca of organization she had created to attend Student Council, but she was back quickly after to get the club fair started. And scurry over to her own table.

[[ ~~Each~~ Most clubs will have two threads: a promotion table for interaction with the club head(s) and an OOC sign up sheet to join the club. A few clubs have an exception or two, and those exceptions will be pointed out in the thread. ]]

[[ ETA: Soooo, I made a little "oops" on the schedule, and there actually ARE no 3pm classes. So ignore those Xs. If it helps anyway, 1pm = Fourth Period, 2pm = Fifth Period, sorry about the mix up and any confusion! ]]

Savannah was here at the table, in her uniform and everything.

Joan was grumbling when she approached the table. She had tried the cheerleading thing once and it so wasn't her thing, but someone had decided she needed to try out for the squad here.

"Is this where I sign up for cheerleading?" Joan asked.

Savannah smiled. "Definitely." She extended her hand. "I'm Savannah."

"I'm Joan," she replied, shaking Savannah's hand. "I guess I'm going to sign up for tryouts."

"Oh cool," Savannah grinned and handed her the sign up sheet. "They'll be next Tuesday in the gym."

"Didn't realise you were a cheerleader," Angela said, pausing by the table as she wandered around. She obviously doesn't listen to radio that often.

Savannah grinned. "Hey Angela." She nodded. "Yep, been one since last summer."

"Ooh, long termer and everything," Angela said beaming back at her. "Doing it for the pom-poms and cute outfits, or because it's just that fun?" she asked.

She laughed. "You know me." She lowered her voice. "For both, but there is also the fact that my boyfriend loves the outfits."

Hey, this was Angela. Savannah would tell her everything!

Kaylee tilted her head. "What's a cheerleader do?"

It kinda sounded like something she'd be good at. Or at least have fun doing.

Savannah grinned. "Well, we do our best to keep everyone full of spirit. We have get-togethers and sleepovers. We cheered last year at the flag football games. In the spring we held a fashion show with clothing that co-captain Brooke designed and created. We try to do other things through the year for the school, as well."

"Ooh! I know Brooke," Kaylee said excitedly. "But how d'the sleepovers help with spirit?"

"She's great, isn't she?" Savannah grinned. "It's like a bonding experience. We have a cheerleader sleepover to get to know one another better and hang out. Then, we try to do something for the school, like last summer we had a week where we were all making cookies for the dorms. We cooked on a different floor each day."

Ella eyed the uniform curiously. "I'm not sure what a cheerleader is," she admitted, brushing her hair back.

[OOC: Could Savannah accidentally give her an order to try out?]

Savannah smiled. "We cheer people on in competitions and try to raise school spirit."

"We have competitions?" Ella asked, a little surprised. "Like the tournament a few weekends ago?"

She'd been happy enough to stay away from that.

"Hello," Penelope said, smiling behind her scarf. "Could you please tell me what a Gremlin Cheerleader is?"

Savannah smiled at her, bouncing a little.

"The Gremlin Cheerleaders are a group of people who try to keep up the spirit of the school by doing things like cookie bakes, sleepovers, cheering at games, holding shows, and doing competitions or assemblies to show off our skills."
