Student Council (Friday, lunch)

Nathan had set up for Student Council with a lunch of pizza. He was all about the health food.

"Congratulations to all of you for winning," Nathan said. "Welcome to your first student Council meeting. We have a few orders of business that need to be taken care of today. The first is electing a president from one of our two seniors. Next you'll need to start brainstorming what you want to do for Homecoming, which will be the weekend of October 11th. We can also hit on anything anyone else would like to suggest.

"Let's get started."

My BFF is coming to see me tonight, so won't be around as much until tomorrow. Assume Nathan announces the President after everyone votes, so you'd ICly know by the end of the meeting. Ping into Nathan's thread if you need to make sure to get my attention.

We just want the debates, damn it! We were going to watch and scream at the TV together!

"Space would be too obvious for me," Lee decided. "And I think it's cliche using stars and stuff. The movies I've seen seem to say so, at least. Something Vegas-y? Casinos and gambling? Fake, of course."

Lee was busy subtly checking himself out (he was clothed, thank you) to make sure that being a girl hadn't made his real body any less...nice than it had been.

Ha! Just no kicking your television. Then, you'd have to miss Heroes and that would be sad!

"Even fake wouldn't that be a bit... much?" Ino said, wrinkling her nose slightly. "I mean, really, I've got no problems with casinos and such, but as a school function it seems a bit... of the wrong message? It'd be fun, totally, but maybe we could edge that into more of a... not dance theme, I don't know, that's not the right word, sorry, but like... have the casino and such included but not have it the main focus of the theme?"

Ino had to admit that she hadn't even met Harvey yet, so... her vote was easy.

Ino was still vaguely bemused that she'd actually, you know, gotten the spot when she still wasn't sure what had possessed her to fill out the ballot.

That being said, she was nibbling on pizza and checking out who she had to work with.

"Sort of like an attraction," Lee filled in. "Yeah, I can get with that. Gives people something to do besides drinking, dancing and wallflowering. Could always go Western. I've seen those in books and those big hats are funny."

"I fear Parent's Weekend," Lee said idly.

"Western... that's the whole thing with the guys with those--chaps, I think?--over their pants and the whole shoot out at high noon all dramatic like, right?"

Ino grinned.

"I like that idea, actually."

"Yeah, chaps and boots and bandannas," Lee said, snickering. "It'd be a change, at least. Instead of a punch bowl and food area, it could be done up like a saloon?"

"That'd definitely be different," she said, nodding a bit. And giggling. "Which would be interesting. Oh! We could maybe have a set up for fake duels? Like, instead of you know, real guns have water guns or something at 'high noon'? As an attraction, if people wanted to sign up for it."

But it does look like you're gonna get your wish! McCain's gonna debate, according to the AP. So, let the yelling commence!

Laughing, Lee said, "I like that. I think we've had jousts before but not fake duels. I'd say see if we can get some horses too and have a place to ride them."
