Journalism Class - Thursday, September 8
There is a note taped to the door of the Classroom.
"Assistant.
At 2 am when I went to catch a shower, I received a singularly rude awakening by an invasive tentacle. Being somewhat choosy about these things, I've taken a flamethrower and gone to the basement to make my displeasure known.
Take attendance. Turn on the feeds - they're voice activated and currently only respond to you, me and the principal. Make 'em pick a topic, choose sides and argue about it - the more emotional the better. Class can end as soon as one side capitulates or the minute violence breaks out - whichever comes first.
First person to resort to physical violence, however provoked, gets detention. Use your discretion as to whether or not the provokee deserves detention as well. I'll sign the slip when I get back.
If an article doesn't appear in my journal by midnight tonight, write an obituary and send it to Royce at the City Editor's Desk at the Word. All the information is on my personal laptop and the password is taped to the back of the door into my quarters. The system will let you in.
... and find out where the hell my interns are. I could have used someone to carry the damn flamethrower.
P.S. And if you aren't supposed to be in class today, find an intern and make them do it. You'll still have to turn on the feeds, though."

"I'll grab lunch few minutes sir. Do you want me to arrange things for the rest of your classes as well?

"Is there a way I can get ahold of you for the next time he asks me to find one of his interns?"
She pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear and looked at him with curiousity.

"What do you suggest? Since you'll probably be the one tracking me or the other guy down." Alex wonders off-handedly where "the other guy" is, even.

"I had thought of that," she said with a smile. "I'm going to ask him to requistion cell phones for the three of us. He seems to like leaving notes around for me, but sometimes, I don't find them until it's too late." She grinned. "He wants us to be available should he need us. Well, then we need phones. Also, what if something happens in the line of duty while working for him and one of us needs access to back up? We can't do a good job under those circumstances unless we have the appropriate equipment to deal with any situation that may come up." She met Alex's eyes. "He doesn't want to have to interview and hire new people and train them."
She leaned back. "So, we need cell phones."

Slinging an arm over the back of his seat, he turns to look at her more comfortably. His expression thoughtful, he changes the subject slightly. "We should probably meet and talk - whatshisface too. If we're going to be working together at any time, I'd rather get acquainted at least a bit."
no subject
"Yes, I think the three of us getting together is a very good idea. I also like to know who I'm dealing with. Do you even know who the third one is?"

Alex seems friendly, though there's a narrowing of his eyes that hints at less friendly thoughts. In any case, being accepted as the prof's intern should say something about him.
He shakes his head at Phoebe's question. "A guy, that's all I know. I haven't even seen him around since then... Though with all the chaos of school starting, he might just turn up in a couple days."
