Today the Danger Shop was set up to resemble a swanky bar, and Bond looked especially happy to be behind the counter. Really.

"Mixology," he said, barely even waiting for the class to finish arriving before he began, pouring the contents of several bottles into a shaker. "If there's one skill every person should master in their lifetime, it's the ability to make at least one cocktail and make it well. It will impress both your friends and your potential lovers, it can lead to exciting employment opportunities, and since the Geneva Convention has yet to rule on Jägerbombs, can provide an impromptu instrument of torture."

Putting the lid on, Bond started shaking the silver container as if it had personally offended him. "Today you will all experiment with making cocktails, both traditional recipes and your own if you feel adventurous. All the equipment you need is there for you, and the alcohol is simulated so you don't need to worry about any ill-effects," he said, carefully straining his drink into a glass. Tucking the bottles he'd used under one arm, he made his way for an out of the way table up the back, glass in hand."If you have any questions, you can ask Mr Darklighter, or figure them out on your own since this is hardly rocket science."

"Not a lot of mixed drinks where you're from?" she grinned.

"Far down on the list of what is considered useful," Helen agreed. "A strong ale or something like this world's whiskey, yes."

"I'm not an expert or anything, but I've seen people do this before... Want to try working together?"

"It could hardly be worse than me working alone," Helen admitted. "Why not."

"Famous last words," Triela snorted. "Still..."

She picked up a couple of bottles at random. "You want to try some of these and tell me what tastes good? Then we can figure out what to try combining."

Helen looked rather dubious, but nodded. "All right, pour away."

Deciding to err on the side of caution, Triela poured a couple of small portions from the bottles. "I have no idea what any of these taste like."

"I'm not even from this world," Helen said, sipping at one of them cautiously and making a face.

"Bad choice?" Triela quirked an eyebrow.

She doesn't try any of them herself.

"It tastes terrible," Helen said, trying another. She made another face. "Perhaps I just am not meant to drink these alcohols."

"These things apparently don't have any alcohol in them, so maybe that's the problem? Maybe people only drink this stuff for the alcohol."

"I don't know," Helen said thoughtfully. "Maybe? On one of the worlds I was on they had this drink called Creema di Leema. It was a sort of creamy orange juice and definitely alcoholic. I rather enjoyed that."

"Huh." Triela looked around, "I don't see any here..."

"Maybe... is there anything that has an orange taste to it?"

"Let me check." Triela looked through the bottles and came up with two. "How about these?"

One is a sort of fermented orange juice, and the other is a liquor.

Helen sniffed at them and shrugged. "We can try them. Is there something creamy as well?"

"I... don't know." She eyed some of the bottles, "Do you see anything that looks promising?"

Helen opened a few, sniffing and discarding, then stumbled across one that seemed like a possibility. She shrugged. "Can't hurt to try, right?"

She carefully mixed the fermented orange with the creamy one and added in a little of the orange liquer, then looked at the whole thing dubiously. She split it between two glasses and offered the other girl one.

"It might, actually," Triela said with a grin. She pulled a small spring-loaded syringe from one pocket. "Mr. Bond says there's no alcohol, so I'm hoping this won't trigger a reaction," she lifted her glass. "But if it does, could you stab me with this thing?" she held out the syringe.

Helen blinked, but took the syringe. "I will," she said. "Are you sure you want to try if it could make you ill?"

"It probably won't, and it's just a reaction with the drugs I'm on."

Triela grinned. "Besides, it wouldn't be right to make you risk drinking this concoction on your own."
