As the class entered the classroom, they would have found Bond leaning against the front desk.

"Good afternoon class," he began after they had all arrived. "For those of you who haven't taken a class with me before, my name is Bond, you may address me as Professor Bond, or sir."

"This class is Survival Skills," Bond continued. "And really, the name should be self-explanatory, in this class you will be learning about a number of skills that over the years I have to be extremely beneficial to my continued survival. Since I have, on occasion, led an interesting life, some of these may seem slightly out of the ordinary, but that doesn't diminish their value any."

"Now, for our first lesson, we'll keep things simple, introduce yourself to the rest of the class and tell us your name, year, why you're taking the class, one survival skill you feel you have, and one that you think might be useful to learn."

"Oh, one more thing," Bond said, running his finger down the class list. "If Mr Darklighter is here, could he please see me after class."

"There might be a few stains, tears, but other than that, hey, they should be good as new."

"Well, in that case, I won't have to hunt him down and kill him immediately." Triela smirked, "It can wait until tomorrow, I suppose."

[And off to class! Back later! Yay roomies!]

Amber giggled. "You might have a hard time finding him."

"Did you get him already?" Triela teased.

"He split," she giggled, lying through her teeth.

"Like, cut in half split?" Triela grinned.

"It was totally an accident," she said, going with it.

"With what?" Triela laughed, "A chainsaw?"

"Hey, not my fault he turned it on in the room. Some men just think their born lumberjacks. He was totally going to redecorate your bed. Instead he just splattered himself all over it."

"Well," Triela said, tapping her chin dramatically, "I suppose that's better than him ruining my bed. Because I know how to get bloodstains out, but I'm not really a carpenter."

Amber blinked. She knew Triela killed people but... this was a little disturbing even though it was totally her fault for egging her on.

"Alright, whatever, you know I don't have a boyfriend."

"Hey," Triela protested, "I was away all summer. Besides, you are in a sex ed class."

"Only 'cause I'm a virgin," Amber responded without thinking.

...

"I... didn't really mean to say that out loud."

Triela laughed, grinning broadly. "That's not a bad thing," she pointed out.

"Are you?" she asked, realizing only belatedly that this wasn't the proper subject for this class. But ooops?

For a moment Triela considered not answering, but... Amber was her friend.

"No," she said quietly. "I wish I were, though. It's... not a very nice story."

"Oh," well now she did it, sticking her foot in her mouth. "I'm sorry, Triela, for asking. It's none of my business."

"Not your fault," Triela managed a grin. "I don't mind the curiosity, I just... don't think you really want to know."

Then she shrugged, "It's not like I remember it. I just read it in my personnel file back at the Agency."

"You were... hurt?" It was the only reason Amber could come up with for Triela not remembering it.

"I imagine it hurt quite a bit. I mean, they had to replace most of me with cybernetic parts to keep me alive, so I doubt it was much fun."

She shrugged again, "If you really wanted I could tell you about it, but I'm serious: I don't think you want to know."

"Not here at least," Amber said softly, wondering what the heck her friend had had to endure.

Sensing a slight shift in mood, Triela quirked an eyebrow, "So you're really in that class just because you're curious?"

"Sure, why not? I mean if I'm not having sex, I might as well learn why not having sex is the best thing for me, right?"

"You've got a point there," Triela laughed.

"But," Amber leaned towards her and grinned. "I'm not sure about it, you know? I'm keeping an open mind."
