Lulu stepped up to the front of the class, smiling warmly at the gathered students. "Good morning, everyone," she said, leaning back against her desk. "I'm glad to see you all here, and I hope that you're all ready for the new semester. I'll have a final syllabus for you next class; today, I'd like to focus on making sure that we all know each other. So, as I'm sure you're doing in all of your other classes," and here she smirked, just slightly, a quick upturn at the corner of her mouth, "we'll be doing introductions."

"As some of you know," Lulu continued, "my name is Lulu; you may call me either that, or Professor. I come from a small island named Besaid, on the world of Spira, where I was a Guardian to my friend, a summoner named Yuna. If you'd like, at some point in the future, I can talk about that a little more. Now, for you," she continued, "the same thing -- your name, your class, where you're from, and an interesting fact about yourself." She pointed at one student at random. "We'll start with you."

Cimorene stood up and straightened her skirt. "I'm Princess Cimorene of Linderwall, from Linderwall, near the Enchanted Forest, but more recently from the Dragon's Caves and was the Chief Cook and Librarian to the King of Dragons. And I'm a Senior."

Francine admittedly spent a lot of time staring at the teacher. And then looking down. And then looking back at the teacher. So when her turn came, she was a little flustered. "Oh, uh, um, hi. I'm Francine. Peters. I'm a Junior, from Houston and Tennessee before that, and... I suddenly feel vaguely insecure for some reason?"

That got a bit of a shrug. "It's the introduction thing, I believe," Viki said, smiling. "Who goes around thinking things are interesting about themselves?"

She supposed it was possible but that seemed rather boring.

"It's something from my time period," Hoshi explained. "Basically, it takes recycled protein matter and synthesizes food products from a blueprint stored in its memory banks. I have one, but it's really primitive. No matter what I ask for, it gives me chocolate milk."
