Today, the Danger Shop was set up like a fine restaurant, complete with small tables, ~~moddable~~ wait staff, and mood lighting. Standing in front of the scene and waiting for the students, Ronon was not smiling.

"As of right now, all of you are faced with a complicated and uncomfortable situation: a date you don't want to be on. I'm told this is a common problem for people on this planet. Four escape methods are listed in your handout, including Faking an Emergency, Slipping Away Unnoticed, Slipping Out the Window, and Getting Your Date to Leave. These methods assume that your date is some sort of trained assassin bent on your demise or that you're afraid of what your date would do in public if you walked out on them. Sounds like some dates McKay's been on." He smirked at the assembled teens, almost wishing Sheppard was there to share the barb.

"Go ahead and make up your own escape methods, but I hear the goal is to get out without anyone crying or drawing weapons." Ronon obviously didn't approve of this last part. Weapons should always be an option. "Good luck."

Since it wasn't really real, Sokka ordered a few of the most expensive things on the menu. Hopefully his date, whoever she ended up being, would appreciate them when they arrived.

He wondered if, having eaten in the Danger Shop, he'd just be hungry again when they left, and thinking about it made his head hurt.

"Okay, this is so not gonna work for me," Rikku announced, plopping down on the seat opposite his. "Why are we pretending I went out with you in the first place?"

"Well," Sokka told her, kicking his feet up onto the table and giving her a sly grin, "obviously you're a trained assassin trying to seduce me and then kill me. Go on, give it your best shot. Hope you like lobster tails and fill-it mig-nen, 'cause that's what we're getting."

"Can't I just shoot you?" Rikku asked. "I'm not touching you. No way they paid me enough for that. In fact, I could've gotten a sniper rifle and taken you out without ever coming in here."

Sokka stared at her. "So, what, I'm HIDEOUS now???" he shouted. "Did I grow an extra head or something while I wasn't paying attention??? You can't even pretend to pretend to be on a date with me???"

Rikku had to consider this for a few minutes.

"Do I get a bribe if I do?" she asked. "I mean, what's my motivation, here? I feel really challenged as an actor and I'm not getting the proper direction."

Sokka thought for a bit.

"Bribe... bribe... bribe... YES! I've got just the thing! Hang on, wait here a moment. I'll just go and get it." He got up and walked off towards the coatroom.

Oooooh, a bribe! That was gonna be ... heyyyyyyyy.

"Hey, wait a minute!" she called after him. "You'd better not be ditching me! I read that hand-out, too! I know where you sleep and I punch harder than you!"

Sokka gave her his best sad puppy-dog eyes. "I'm not, I swear!" he insisted. "Just gimme just a second -- I've got something really cool in my bag!"

Hopefully, she wasn't serious about punching him in his sleep.

Hopefully.

"I'm warning you!" she said, eyes narrowing. "I'm totally serious! I'll punch you so hard you wake up and go back to sleep again! It doesn't have to make sense, I'll do it!"

Oh, she so would. Possibly twice.

"Consider me totally warned!" Sokka told her. "You've warned me!"

Oh, he was SO dead.

He spent a few moments making a show of looking for the imaginary "bribe", and then dashed out the door into the night, just as the waiter brought Rikku the (very expensive) food.

"Hi," Rikku said pleasantly to the waiter. "That guy just said he thinks you smell bad, and all the food here sucks, and then he ran off with my purse. You should take this food to someone else's table and charge him extra. I'm gonna go rip his spleen out and drag him back here, okay?"
