Merc'ing 101: How to Make it as a Mercenary and Still Stay in One Piece, Wednesday 8/6

"Now the last couple of classes have been fun," he grinned. As usual, Murdock spoke while strolling around the Danger Shop, but today there was a slight limp present. "But we need to get down to some real business." He stopped and shot the class a look. "Some of the guys you might find yourself going up against are pros. Real pros. Not just slimeballs who think they can handle a gun and throw a fast right hook."

"So what we'll do today isn't so much with the running around and shooting, but the planning and stealth we'll need to ultimately take these guys out." He grinned impishly, "And then we can run around and shoot at 'em."

(ooc: short posty, all in OCD whoo! ooh the wait is on over! OCD up.)

"Oh, man," Jack groaned, "please tell me it doesn't involve me in a box again?"

Flashbacks to the Right Tools class? In my Burton? It's more likely than you think.

"That's up to you, man," Murdock grinned. "I've been stuck in worse. Ever seen the inside of a vending machine? Kinda hot in there."

"...You got your arm stuck in a vending machine?"

Not like that hasn't almost happened to Jack a few times, but still.

"Nooooo...It's called gettin' creative with your sypin' technique. I was in the machine. Ain't a whole lot of space in those things."

What?

"Why were you inside of a vending machine? How did you get out?"

....

"Did you get free candy bars?" That was important.

"Nah, it was a soda machine," he waved a hand absently. "I was in there because we needed a way to overhear a conversation and bugs weren't gonna work since the room would be scanned."

"It's good to have friends," he smirked.

That was a hell of a plan. He was impressed. "DId it work?"

"I got the info we needed," he grinned.

"Great!" He grinned, too. "I...I don't think a vending machine will work here. Hrm. We need more people."

"More..." Something about that just wasn't adding up. "More people for what?"

He might dread that question.

"For distraction. And because I don't think I can beat everyone up myself. I'm not that good," he admitted. Grudgingly. He could take at least five, he figured.

He had to remind himself that facepalming in class wasn't good.

"Jack..."

"...there are other people." Yo, duh. "Like your classmates?" Hi. Remember them? "They'll probably work with you if you ask them."

Or they'll run fleeing in terror.

"Oh. Right. Well, we need a plan. This'll take crackerjack timing," he said with a winsome grin.

In terror.

"I thought I already said that," he mumbled.

"Yes, it will. So you might want to start on that."

Meanwhile, there's a wall over there just perfect for his forehead.
