Underwater Basketweaving as a Metaphor for Organising Your Life -- Class 5, Period 2 [Tuesday]

Class was once again at the pool, with Lulu and Juli at either end. "Today's class," Lulu began, "puts two lessons to the test: we're combining swimming with holding your breath underwater. I hope you've all been handwavily practicing this week."

From the other end, Juli said, "You're going to be swimming lengths, without surfacing for breath. This means that you'll be using more oxygen because you'll be exerting yourself--so don't be surprised if you can't last as long as you did last week while remaining primarily stationary. If you run into any difficulty you cannot get yourself out of, Professor Lulu and I are standing at the ready to aid you. Otherwise, you may consider this as a ‘pop-quiz’."

"Divide yourselves into pairs," Lulu continued, "and see who can complete the most length in a row without surfacing by the time the class is over.

"Also, the student who completes the most laps overall will win a prize which will be awarded at the start of next class."

[Wait for the OCD is up!]

Harry looked around for a partner. Hopefully a partner who wasn't going to show him up too much. And one who won't mind handwaving due to my utter lack of availability for nearly all of Tuesday.

"Hey, Harry, right? Wanna pair up?" Chris asked.

Harry nodded. "Yeah. To both the name and the pairing up."

Bender sat by the edge of the pool, his feet kicking up spray, as he wondered if he'd get caught running a book on the others' underwater performance.
