Once the library was opened, Karal and Altra settled in to read about the island's current location. Karal was looking for something fun for him and Evey to do; what they found was absolute horror.

"These creatures cannot be real," he murmured, while Altra's ears flattened. Just in case, he pulled his feet up onto the chair.

Karal was multi-tasking, tidying the periodicals - which he could do by touch - and reading, which he could do through Altra, who was sprawled on the desk.

Thankfully, they remembered that Karal had class, and dashed off to that in the fourth period.

Karal was speaking into his recorder. Altra was patrolling the library, on the watch for any giant, multi-legged critters.

There was a GIANT huntsman spider in the garage tonight. When I moved the shelves, it skittered across the wall and it was so big and so heavy I could hear it.
