Roving the Galaxy - Friday, Period 4 (Week 4)

The Danger Shop was set up like a giant walk-in wardrobe with alcoves for changing. The Doctor was trying on new coats. "Go on," he said with a jerk of his head towards the other racks. "Sometimes you have to fit in and dress the part. Now keep in mind you can't always drag around a wardrobe unless you're me, so have a think about something that you can travel in that will work in different settings and that looks good. A good coat can go a long way."

The Danger Shop had been programmed to include all sorts of clothing from the sensible to the ridiculous (yes, even a feather boa). Take a look around and pick out something that works for you as travel gear. Feel free to help each other out and chat.

Karal was having a bit of trouble with the looking around part of the assignment, seeing as Altra had felt compelled to leap on a feather boa and behave rather more like a moggy than the dignified avatar of a sungod.

This left Karal finding clothes by feel, but he was game and so, clothes in hand, disappeared into an alcove, and came out looking like this (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh68/fhcollective/1024-son4.jpg). "This outfit feels very odd," he murmured, tugging at the jacket.

The Doctor stared for a moment and noted that one of his previous incarnations would have worn something like that. Well, the man did wear celery, so he would've worn anything really.

"That's a good way of describing it," he said to himself. "Maybe you should pair up with someone. For colour coordination."

Altra had disappeared somewhere with the boa - all Karal could see was feathers - so Karal smiled in the general direction of the Doctor's voice. "Is it very bright?" he asked, wiggling his shoulders. "It's not very warm, I know that much."

Helen put on this (http://www.leatherattractions.com/large/ladies5.jpg) over her customary black pants and top.

Hoshi found something in pink spandex. She wasn't crazy about the finished look, though she had to admit that this would be comfortable to run around in.

Sam's first concern was finding clothes that would fit him, figuring that would be the first sign that he was out of place. Luckily, there were some coats that fit surprisingly well.

Sokka walked among the racks, trying on all sorts of things that fit his definition of "stylish" (which bears little resemblance to most people's).

He eventually was left trying to decide between a purple pleather zoot suit and a sparkly teal track suit, and ended up just sticking with his own tunic and leggings.

Cimorene went for a pair of black slacks, and a dark blue blouse. She then went on a quest for a good belt that would hold her sheathed sword as well.

He's obsessed with these coats.

"I, um, wanted to apologize for missing class last week," said Hoshi. After the small lecture she'd gotten from Kerrigan earlier in the week, she had no idea what to expect.

"Apology accepted. You missed the end of the world! Burning and a space station and little canapés. Were you at least somewhere fun?"

Somehow, Hoshi was more disappointed over missing the canapés than the end of the world.

"I was working on translating a book into English and completely lost track of time," she said apologetically. "I should have managed my time a lot better or paid more attention to the clock."

"Into English from which language?"

"Narn," replied Hoshi. "Mr. G'Kar at Turtle & Canary? He's a Narn. He's been giving me lessons."

Cimorene stopped by after class. "My apologies for missing class last week." She said primly.

A good coat can go even further if you're Jack Harkness. So can no coat (or clothes) at all.
