The class today was set up like a giant flat field of silver squares as far as the eye could see. Nothing more, nothing less.

It was kinda depressing really.

If you didn’t count that their teacher was completely covered in paint except for the part where he’d just peeled off his shirt. “Uh… hi guys!” He laughed sheepishly. “Welcome welcome, this morning is going to be a game of thinking skills rather than physical and will need a little bit of luck, as you can see.” He motioned to the paint covering himself and his clothing.

“Out on that field there are hidden mines. If you set them off you’ll be covered with paint. Your goal today is to find the mines that are out there and mark them with the flags you’ll see on the wall behind me,” he said and pointed over his shoulder. “Now before you start thinking this is going to be impossible, around the field there are number markers that you need to reveal by stepping on them. The number shown will tell you how many tiles around you have a mine underneath them and it can be up to eight. Granted I know that that would mean that you’d be surrounded, but once you flag the mine, it becomes harmless and you can step on it. The first row of squares are all safe, so everyone pick a spot to start and have fun!”

Jack was boggling. Teachers shouldn't be painted. And probably not shirtless.

...Liir was just wondering how exactly this would help him survive. Anything.

Michael was trying not to stare as he listened.

Ella was wondering when, exactly, she'd confront a minefield neatly marked in sections, but she was listening anyhow.

Sam boggled. And yet weirdly kind of understood what they were supposed to be learning here. He thought. Maybe.

Deidara grinned. Explosives. Nice. This was going to be easy.

Don't forget your flags.

Jack entered, top left corner. He had the flags in his hand, waiting.

Which way did he want to go? Jack could choose the tile in front of him or the ones on either side of that one.

Directly in front of him. Jack's a straightforward type of guy. Would be a shame to hit a mine this close in.

He stepped on the first square in the line.

Which way did he want to go? Liir could choose the tile in front of him or the ones on either side of that one.

He stepped to the right one.

Michael picked up his flags and stepped onto the top middle square.

Which way did he want to go? Michael could choose the tile in front of him or the ones on either side of that one.

Ella picked a square near the center of the row and hopped onto it, flags in hand.

Which way did she want to go? Ella could choose the tile in front of her or the ones on either side of that one.

She picked the tile directly in front of her.

In a flash the field changed. (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a273/Gryffie/ella1.png) Directly infront of Ella was a blank square and in front of that was a square marked "1". There were other numbers and other blank squares there as well.

Deidara modeled a little bird out of clay, then released it to glide out over the minefield. Smirking, he stepped out onto the bottom left corner, flags in hand, pale blue eyes watching his own explosive signaling device.

Which way did he want to go? Deidara could choose the tile in front of him or the ones on either side of that one.

And the cheater bird would not score him points.

It couldn't locate the mines, no, but it could at least take the paint-y explosion for him...as well as land on tiles farther away without having to make him jump for it.

Deidara was smug enough to not even bother to take off his coat for this, going at a diagonal into the puzzle.

Deidara didn't have as much luck as Ella, and only one square (http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a273/Gryffie/deidara1.png) showed what was under it.

It’ll take forever to get that paint out of his hair….

Yes, they're playing a giant game of minesweeper XD I'm a dork.

The field for each person is 16 x 24 squares ~~conveniently the same size as my graph paper~~ Let me know where on the first row your person starts (I.E. 3rd tile from the top, 6th from the bottom, etc) and then which tile around them your character chooses to tap. Yes, I’ve made a different chart for each of you. Aren’t I nice?

As always I don't get home from work until after 6pm pacific. Bleh, stupid work.
