Once the students gathered, the Doctor bounded over to them from where he'd been having far too much fun tinkering with the Danger Shop controls. He pulled his glasses off and tucked them into his pocket. "Right! So. Missed last week, sorry about that, won't happen again." With the Doctor, you never knew. "Okay! We've done introductions and polite conversation. Well, you did polite conversation and I'm sure you all passed with flying colours. Let's get on to rule number one. Something is always not right. Terrible grammar, but I didn't write it, so let's get past that and onto the point. No matter the situation or the setting, something will always be out of place. It might be something as simple as the food being off because someone left it out of the fridge or it could be something dangerous. Experience has told me that there's always, always something going on. The question is," the Doctor mused, looking at them all expectantly, "are you tuned into your surroundings enough to notice?"

He pointed his sonic screwdriver at the Danger Shop controls and the surroundings changed to a space station. The large window that took up most of one wall showed Earth below, looking a little worse for wear, but still intact. The sun looked much larger than usual due to it being very, very old and being ready to devour the Earth in about half an hour's time.

"I'll give you a head start on this one, but from now on I want you to be completely aware of what's going on around you. Pay attention to everything. Someone on this station has been trying to sabotage it. Don't draw attention to yourselves while you try to figure out who. Oh, and," he frowned. "Mind the spiders."

Get emo over the Earth burning up, see some blue servants and maybe a scuttling mechanical spider or two. Or you can just wander, especially if you feel like dodging the class task.

Sokka wandered the halls curiously, examining everything.

Because the Doctor had told them to mind the spiders, he tried to stomp on a few as they scuttled by.

Gwynn was examining everything she came across -- because that is what she always did. She was careful to avoid the weird spiders.

Helen looked curiously at the strange planet below her. It didn't look like any one she recognized, but she hoped if it had been inhabited that the people had managed to be evacuated.

She also called out to the spiders with her thoughts, wondering if she'd have the same affinity for these.

Peter wandered around, trying to get a feel for the place.

He may have been a tiny bit emo about Earth. Or maybe it was just his bangs.

In the main chamber, there are several blue servants and, of course, guests who are here to watch the Earth burn up. The Doctor had intentionally left a few other visitors who had been on the real Platform One out of the simulation.

Try to get a feel for who might be causing trouble. And yes, it's entirely possible that the Danger Shop didn't quite understand the programming for the Adherents of the Repeated Meme. They might meme at you if you mod them doing so. (http://community.livejournal.com/doctorwhy/21746.html)

Sokka mingled, trying to talk to people without being TOO rude.

Helen was paying close attention and was ready to mingle with them all to discover who might be causing trouble.

The Doctor paused the simulation when it was almost time to go. "You don't have a lot to go by, but that's what we're looking for here. Try to hone your sense about people. Who stood out of the crowd? Who do you think is most likely to try to sabotage Platform One? You don't have to be right, but you do have to be able to explain your choice."

Sokka also spent some quality time by the snack table.

"So," he asked, conversationally, "what actually IS your name, anyway?"

He finished his mouthful of things that looked like peanuts but tasted like banana. "I'm the Doctor."

"Right, right, right, I know THAT," Sokka told him, "But Doctor WHO? I mean, 'doctor' is a title, not a name, right?"

[I am very, very sorry for this. I just couldn't resist.]

Sleep now. Availability will be a bit spotty this evening, but it's largely an observe and think class anyway. Feel free to mod the guests. The Face of Boe is intentionally missing on this one.
