How to not get Killed - Week 3 - Tuesday

The class was meeting yet again in the Danger Shop. This week they were faced with a sloping wall with levels and ladders and various moving fires in different places. At the top was a bored looking giant gorilla and next to him was a cage that looked like it was empty? It was difficult to tell from where they were.

Arashi smiled at everyone as they filed in, nodding. “Good morning everyone! So this week might be more or less of a challenge than last week, just in different ways. Our friend up there,” he said motioning to the gorilla who waved back with a yawn. “Has something precious of yours, wither it’s a person or a thing- who knows the Danger Shop decides, and it’s your job to get it back but just getting up to the same level of the cage without getting ‘killed’. It’s not going to be a matter of just climbing ladders, the gorilla will be throwing barrels down the slope as you go, unless you can talk him out of it.”

“Other than that there aren’t any tricks to it! At the end of the class there will be cake! Or pie, which ever you prefer.”

Jack was staring at the course and at the professor.

Climbing ladders and jumping barrels? Oh, it's on.

Ella listened. Climbing ladders seemed easy enough, though she wished she hadn't worn a skirt.

The gorilla gave him a faint chill. It reminded him of the Gorilla he'd met during his trip through Southstairs.

Michael listened and eyed the set-up.

Or just try to convince the gorilla to give you what you want.

There was cake involved. Jack was going for it. And the first ladder.

The gorilla plopped down, looking more bored, but it watched Jack closely to see where he would go from the first ladder.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"You can talk!" Jack exclaimed. "What's the view like up there? Can I see?" Climb Jack Climb .

Ella took a deep breath, reminded herself to ignore the heights factor, and started climbing, skirt billowing out around her legs.

"Hey girlie," the gorilla blinked at her. "I could be wrong since I don't get alotta girls doin' this, but isn't it a bad idea to climb in a skirt?"

"It's what I wore to class," Ella said with a tiny shrug, scaling the last rungs of the ladder. "Should I climb in my underthings insetad?"

"Might give you an advantage," it shrugged and picked up a barrel. "Makes be feel kinda bad 'bout throwin' this."

"Do you frequently ask young ladies to strip?" Ella wondered aloud, scrambling higher. "I hear that's frowned on in some cultures."

The gorilla might have been blushing slightly. "Nah, though most female gorillas don't wear clothing and I hate to do this but.. a job's a job," he apologized and tossed a barrel down the ramp towards her.

"Get a new job!" Ella suggested, hopping to the side and barely managing to dodge the barrel. "i hear they're hiring ladder builders."

"But I get full medical and dental with this one! And all the bananas I can eat!" He countered and chucked another barrel.

"But think about how fantastic you'd feel doing something constructive, instead of de - OOF!" Ella said.

The "oof" being the point where the barrel hit her and she bumped back down the ladder.

Liir decided to try to see if it was a Gorilla first.

"Ho! Sir Gorilla," and he made sure to sound respectful. "Might I ask if you'd be willing to chat? I've made banana walnut bread this morning and still have a piece!"

The Gorilla yawned and eyed Liir.

"Do I look like I could use more carbs?" It said in a gruff, sleepy voice.

"No, sir," he said respectfully. "Though I'll admit it's a good thing to see an Animal about such as yourself, sir."

"You saying gorillas are fat?"

"Certainly not," and he continued blithely along, not wanting to be killed.

"From what I've seen of Gorillas, they're a hardworking and well-kept bunch, and you certainly seem to be the same."

Michael started to climb.

He could deflect the barrels, if he concentrated.

"What? No hello? Geez kids these days," the gorilla shook it's head and hurled a barrell down the ramps.

"...hi?" Michael offered, trying to just dodge the barrel this time.

"Um, hi there?" Sam called up to the gorilla. Might as well try talking first, right?

It’s not a lie, neither is the pie.

The cake was real!

He tries to be helpful.

GAAAAAAH. Sorry if class doesn’t make a lot of sense. I’ve slept a total of 3 hours in the past 48 and I have to be a work and it really really sucks!

And my room mate just finished playing Portal; hence the cake references.

So don’t really expect anything from me until I get home tonight around 6pm pacific like always.
