Roving the Galaxy [period 04 - week 02]

"Good afternoon. The Doctor isn't able to be here today." There was a definite note of disapproval in her voice. "So I've stepped in to take your class. It appears as if you were going to be speaking with friendly aliens this week, and we'll continue with that. He didn't specify which aliens, so I've chosen ones that you will hopefully enjoy."

Harriet leaned against a convenient table. "The question of whether an alien is a friendly one or not can be difficult. Often those who seem to have the best interests of the planet at heart turn out, in fact, to value nothing but their own arrogance." She shook her head. "You don't have to worry about the ones you're going to meet today, though your conversations will be on their terms."

She waved them through a door and into a lush green forest. "Off you go, enjoy yourselves. I'll be here if you need me."

Sokka reached out a hand to pet the little thing. "Yeek!" he agreed. "Very yeek!"

Oh, he liked the petting, and the tone of his yeek was very happy. This one could definitely stick around.

"Sooo... can you talk?" Sokka asked, still petting the creature. "I mean, are you a cute little alien person who I've probably just offended horribly, or are you just animal? Yeek?"

"Yeek," he said first. Then, he pointed to his mouth and spoke again. But this time, it was like he would speak to his friends, and it was too high-pitched for Sokka to hear.

He moved quickly towards Sokka's hand, hoping it was clear he didn't mind the petting. Or being called cute either, for that matter.
