QUANTUM PHYSICS DEPARTMENT: COURSE INFORMATION
[Tacked to the main school message board is the following, printed on slightly psychic paper.]
QPHY 123 Monday and Wednesday (chronofluid)
'I'm My Own Grandfather?!': Essential Quantum Theory for Beginners
This course will be a basic overview of what one needs to know in order to understand the basics of time travel. Of particular note will be sections on preventing harm to the spacetime continuum, the structure of the universe, and the limitations of temporal dynamics. Twenty student cap.
QPHY 305 Thursday (chronofluid)
'What's a Temporal Anomaly, Anyway?': Secondary Quantum Physics Seminar
This course goes beyond QPHY 123, focusing on more complex problems faced by the time traveller. Includes sections on stabilising wormholes and changing historical events without rupturing a society. An overriding theme will be the mental and emotional results of leaving and returning to one's 'home' era. Course is limited to ten students who have had at least some time travel experience.
If there is interest, there will be an open weekly single credit course (one short final paper) on the emotional and mental effects of time travel in application. Please leave me a note if you would be interested.
Instructor: The Doctor. (You should address me as Doctor. Not Doc or anything else.)
Subject: Quantum Physics and Time Travel
Office Hours: Tuesday and Friday during school hours.
Assessments: One group project, class participation/homework, and a final paper.
Field Trips: One observation trip for the 100 level class, possibility of minor field work for the 300 level.
Make-Ups/Extra Credit: Missing class is acceptable with a valid prior excuse, either by speaking to me in person or by written note, unless you are suddenly (in that case, please see Dr House or one of his assistants at the clinic for a note to give to me later). In all honesty, if you skive off, I won't hound you about it...but you won't get decent marks either. Extra credit is negotiable within reason.
Cheating: I'm not telepathic, but I will know. You won't pass, and you'll lose my respect.
Learning Disabilities or Chronic Illnesses: Please notify me in due manner.
Final Note: My classes are based on mutual respect and trust, which can be lost on either of our parts. I expect my students to behave in a civilised manner (Earth standard for the 21st century is acceptable). This includes doing your own work, being at least civil to classmates while in the classroom even if you hate them, and allowing me to do the teaching. Repeated violations will result in detention orif you're absolutely a vile bastard being sent to see Principal Connor. If you would like to discuss any of this, please see me.
Registration is first come, first serve. Please sign up below.

[OOC: I'm playing Rose as though she hasn't yet time traveled. Of course, that will probably change in the future. ;)]

It might come in handy with space travel and the whole Bene Gesserit cause.

(Also, I vould definitely be interested in the extra course, as I've had something of an experience with the mental effects of time-travel.
Waking up in a dark room five-hundred years after one's death tends to do that to a person.no subject
