"Welcome to Thurviving Mad Thientithtth." Igor gave the assembled students a big toothy grin. "While you are in thith clath, lithping will be mandatory. It ith an Igor tradition. I am teaching you how to be Igorth, therefore, you will lithp." Igor handed each student a satchel, containing a number of items, and a syllabus. "The Igor clan hath a long tradition of therving thothe whom otherth might judge to be of quethionable thanity, conveniently lumped under the term mad thcientithtth. Thith ith your firtht letthon: we make no moral judgementh, we jutht do our jobth. Our job ith whatever the mathter requireth and if you want to thurvive working for a mad thientitht, you do your job well.

Today, the job ith in three partth. Firtht, introduthe yourthelf tho we can get to know each other. Thecond, tell me what you would take out of a burning building. Third, practithe your lithping by repeating thith phrathe." He passed out pieces of paper on which was written: She sells sea shells by the sea shore.

"Next week, everyone wear clotheth you don't mind getting thtained. Actually, wear thoth every week; until you refine your techniqueth, you're going to get methy. And don't forget your thatchelth."

[ooc: Pleathe wait for And we have OCD! If writing out the lisping gets to be too much, you can handwave it as long as you indicate in narrative that the character lisped. Otherwise, Igor will patiently correct them.]

Jenny boggled at Igor and lit a cigarette. She had a feeling she was going to need it.

She did like that her satchel contained a lightning rod, though. Very handy.

Rodney tried to pay attention to the actual lecture. He really did. But, unfortunately, he kept getting distracted by staring Igor and attempting to decipher all the lisping.

Bender wondered whether the madness on the part of the scientist was measured in their decision to employ Igor. And whether Igor deliberately chose words full of ethith.

"Er, hi," Jeff said, more than a little bit relieved to find that this teacher was, at least, not a woman.

On the other hand, it gave him a lot less to look at, which was bad. "...I'm, er, Jef-- I mean, Jeth. Hi."

Public speaking, however, was still not one of his best sides.

The lisping took a little getting used to. It was like dealing with a teacher who had an accent. Once you had the hang of it, it was easy enough to understanding. Still, Friday found himself trying to pronounce things with a lisp to see how it felt with his tongue in the way. It made him look quite silly.

"Er, my go? I'm Friday Nextht."

Gavin practiced a few times under his breath. The lisping was hard and he so wasn't knocking his teeth out. They were useful.

"Um. I'm Gavin Darkthlighter," he said.

Couple of things about Igor: He's a hunchback with two massive ears, one droopy eye and one bulging eye, and he is covered in prominent scars. He also has six fingers on his left hand, and five fingers and two thumbs on the right. Height-wise, he stands just at five feet, because of the hunch.

Igors traditionally lisp - not because they have to, but because it is a tradition. This Igor thinks that's very old fashioned, but he takes his teaching duties seriously and so, while teaching, he will follow the old ways and lisp. Outside of teaching, he won't.
