Detention [Saturday]

All of the students who'd earned or been given detention had been told to meet Fraser outside of the Danger Shop. And that's precisely where he was.

"Good morning," he said pleasantly. "I trust you all slept well and I thank you for being on time. Please enter the Danger Shop."

It is now seven-oh-six. You have exactly eight hours and fifty-four minutes four hours and fifty four minutes to think about why you're here. To ponder the error of your ways and you may not talk. You will not move from these seats and you will not sleep.

"Before you begin your detention," Fraser said, looking down at them, "I would like to hope that we never meet again in this circumstance. I once met an Inuit elder who said that, those who get into trouble once learn from their mistakes. Those who get into trouble twice obviously have hard heads and deserve whatever trouble comes at them next."

He smiled and then gathered up each person's snacks before shooing them into the Danger Shop library.

"Last detention for me was a rope course over chocolate pudding," Ino said. "That was a lot more fun. Were you a newt for long? And no one should ever be okay with boring."

"Only a couple minutes, but I still get teased about it. You were in the pudding detention? I heard about that one," she said.

"The pudding detention was awesome," Ino grinned. "How could it not be, when pudding was involved? And, yeah, I can see how the teasing would get annoying."

"It's my new goal for detention: don't get turned into anything," said Jaina, picking up another piece of paper to start balling up. "Today I think I need another goal."
intraspective: (are you REALLY sure)

"What sort of goal?" Ino asked immediately. "And can I help?"

What? She was bored. And challenges were awesome things.

She thought about it. "This is just a Danger Room simulation, right?" she asked, turning in her seat to look around and see what exactly she had to work with. "Can take some damage no problem, because if we're here half a day let's face it, it will come to that..."

"Honestly? I'm surprised it hasn't already," Ino said, glancing around. "Yeah, it's the Danger Shop."

Jaina frowned. "Do you think maybe we should be expecting damage? Like something's going to come barreling out of the stacks soon?" Not that she was hopeful or anything.

Ino perked up at that. "Maybe they're waiting to catch us off-guard!"

Jaina looked at the books expectantly for a moment.

"If I watch, nothing will happen, will it?" she realized.

"Probably not? Maybe we've got to go looking for them?" She guessed. "They're waiting to attack anyone who ignores the rules and leaves the desk area, or something."
