All of the students who'd earned or been given detention had been told to meet Fraser outside of the Danger Shop. And that's precisely where he was.

"Good morning," he said pleasantly. "I trust you all slept well and I thank you for being on time. Please enter the Danger Shop."

It is now seven-oh-six. You have exactly ~~eight hours and fifty-four minutes~~ four hours and fifty four minutes to think about why you're here. To ponder the error of your ways and you may not talk. You will not move from these seats and you will not sleep.

"Before you begin your detention," Fraser said, looking down at them, "I would like to hope that we never meet again in this circumstance. I once met an Inuit elder who said that, those who get into trouble once learn from their mistakes. Those who get into trouble twice obviously have hard heads and deserve whatever trouble comes at them next."

He smiled and then gathered up each person's snacks before shooing them into the Danger Shop library.

"My scissor issues seem to have resolved themselves, thanks," John reminded her. "And just wait till I get you back for the bow."

"You were cute!" she said. "Still are. Told you you wouldn't have time to miss it. Wallaby?"

He patted the top of his head. "I think it's residual rabbit. Like maybe Fandom gave me hair rather than clothes when I turned back."

"Yeah, we sort of didn't account for that happening, did we?" she said with a little wince. "How'd you get out of there?"

"Inara was kind enough to loan me a blanket," John informed her.

"We might want to consider the clothing thing sometime." Right John, have this conversation in detention.

She knew exactly what he meant. "The clothing thing?" she asked, pretending she ddn't.

If they were going to have this conversation, they didn't have to have it from afar. John stood and drug his chair over by her, straddling it backwards. "You know what I mean."

"Pretend I don't," she said with the tiniest of smiles. She didn't know why she wanted to hear it, but she did.

If she wanted it that way, he could certainly explain. "You might want to keep a couple things in my room, just in case something accidentally rips." Or totally on purpose even.

She did turn a little red at that. "I asked for that," she muttered. "It might be nice to not have to go back to our actual rooms just to change in the morning."

John nodded. "Like an overnight kit for preventing embarrassment and encouraging laziness."

"Oh, that last part is going to get us into trouble," she grinned.

"Considering we're already in trouble for nothing, I think we can handle it," he said, smiling back and suppressing the urge to kiss her in detention.

"Maybe we're owed some trouble-causing then," she said lightly.

"Think maybe we could cause some trouble here?" He was bored, sue him.

"Depends on what sort of trouble," she said slowly.

"I don't know, see what there is out there," he inclined his head toward the doors. "Maybe find a closet. Depends."

"Okay," Jaina said immediately.

"That was almost too easy," John said, now really hoping for a closet.

"I'm bored," she said, letting the tiniest bit of a whine slip in there. "Let's hear it for exploring."
