Flight and Flying, Period 5, Thursday 6/26

After handwavily informing the class to meet him on the causeway, Murdock waited almost impatiently for his students. He ginned and waved once they had all arrived. "So we've made it to the last class. Hard to believe it, really."

"For today's class, something special. Actual flight. That's why I asked you all to come here. We're going to the airport in Toamasina and we're going to go up in a small turboprop plane."

"You'll all take turns at flying, from the co-pilot side. I'll stay in the main pilot's seat and handle the take-off and landing." He looked over each of his students, "It has been an honor to work with you all and get to know some of you. Hopefully I'll be seein' some of you again in my next class," he grinned.

"So are we ready? Off we go! Into the wild blue yonder!"

There was also a bunny (complete with barrettes holding its fur back from its face) hopping along with the group. John hopped past Reno, and blinked up at him, considering him kindred what with the haircut thing.

It sucked being all aware and being a bunny.

Jaina had seen some of Madagascar already, so mostly she was checking to make sure a certain bunny didn't wander off where she couldn't find him again, and worry slightly about whether a turboprop plane was really as primitive as she feared it was. She was so spoiled.

John was not pleased by the barrettes and was sorely tempted to wander off into the wilderness and find a way to get them off.

He twitched his nose unhappily at Jaina.

It was real.

It was real and not a simulation. There was sky.

Anemone might be considering taking the aircraft through some maneuvers that it wasn't designed for. Might. Maybe.

Murdock knew that look. All too well. "Anemone," he spoke, just to get her attention, "Now's not really the time. Too many others present."

He leaned over a bit, and winked. "But I know how you feel."

"What, I don't get to pull a take-off?" Reno smirked as he made himself comfortable in the co-pilot's seat. "Gonna have to prove I can pull one off in somethin' that ain't a chopper, sometime, ain't I?"

Kind of a record, since Reno had gotten to Fandom.

He might have brought the mini-bottles of rum again, stashed inside his coat, for anyone who asked. Just for the sake of celebrating. No drinking and flying, though. That would be just plain irresponsible.

There was a kitten. With a destroyed ribbon still hanging around his neck.

He sat at the professor's feet staring at him as if to communicate that he could not participate as he was a kitten.

Or he was pleading with the professor to kill him now so he could die with some kind of honor.

Poor Murdock is rather confused by all the animals and wondering where the heck his students are.
