Galactic Vacationing - Wednesday, Period 4

The Danger Shop was disappointingly set up like a classroom today. The Doctor was at the front, glasses on, feet propped up on the desk as he lounged in what looked to be a very comfortable chair. "Last workshop of the term. No running or jumping or bad reality television today. Today," the Doctor said, leaping up from his seat, "I want you to the one most important thing you've learned from your experiences during this course." He looked at Toby and Kevin if they were there. "Yours should be 'getting naked in public doesn't solve everything'."

The classroom flickered out of existence for the briefest of seconds. The Doctor looked up with a frown. "A little glitch," he assured the class. "Nothing to worry abo-" The classroom disappeared again and left them in darkness. Anyone sitting on desks or chairs would have fallen on their backsides once the classroom and all its contents disappeared. "Okay, nobody panic. Probably a simple malfunction."

"Mummy?"

The Doctor turned on a light and the class found themselves scattered across the ground floor of an old house, probably one you'd find in 1940s London. Staying very still for a moment, the Doctor looked at each of the students within his line of sight. His expression wasn't that of someone who was worried, per se, so much as as someone who was very, very interested and a little suspicious of what was coming next. "That wasn't supposed to happen."

The voice of a boy outside the front door could be heard through the house again.

"Are you my mummy?"

"You realize they'll figure out the door soon enough, don't you?" he asked with a snort.

He wasn't in the best of moods today.

"They won't if we stop it opening", was the grim response.

"We have to get out, Michael," he pointed out. "Or do you propose we just stick our heads in the sand?"

"We don't have to get out", Michael said patiently. "This isn't real, the Doctor didn't plan it, we just have to wait it out until it shuts off."

He snorted.

"Of course he planned it," he said with a shake of his head.

"Why would the Danger Room have an illusion saved that he was so familiar with if he hadn't planned it?"

"Then why make out he was surprised?" he shrugged. "Seems kind of pointless when he could just drop us into it."

"To induce a feeling of real danger," he said with a shake of his head.

"To see how we react in what is supposedly an 'uncontrolled' situation."

"Maybe", Michael allowed. "But we still don't have to get out."

"We were told to," he pointed out, "and we don't know how long this place will even last the lot of them trying to get in. Have you even checked all the doors?"

Michael rolled his eyes.

"Fine, then let's do what we were told and go out the back."

"We don't have to if you don't want to," he grumbled back.

A few more mutters slipped out, not directed at Michael but obviously annoyed.

"We can take the broom and certainly avoid them if you'd prefer."

"Well, I don't want to kill them."

And if his powers came into it...

"Fine. Then get on," and he pulled the broom from it's place before straddling it and looking at Michael expectantly.

"If we get hit with one of the bombs... well, we'll make sure to fly low."
