Barney liked just talking when he felt like it rather than waiting for students to shut up and pay attention to him. This was probably because he always assumed they were paying attention to him. "How far man has come from cave dwellers who picked a prime steak by clubbing her on the head and dragging her home to leaving a voicemail requesting a hook up. It's all about language and communication. And sex, of course."

It was much nicer all the way around, Tink thought. Especially if you had very cute hair and didn't want it messed up by all that icky head-dragging. Didn't Tink have very nice hair? She personally thought her bun was very chic today. It was always stylish, but it had an extra zing right now. Had he noticed?

"Your hair is telling people how incredibly hot you are and that it would be their pleasure to buy you a drink and take you home for some horizontal R&R," Barney told her.

Oh, oh he was ever so charming! This happy wriggle of hers said that he was ever so charming. Did they see that, children? Communication! She didn't need a boring stupid voice to be eloquent and magnificent! He didn't need jingly bell noises in order to flirt! Flirting was universal!

"Excellent point, Ms. Bell. Which is why we're having you students attempt to make a date with someone here in class without speaking in any formalized language." Barney was rather proud of this idea.

Body language, students! Body language was essential when you were dealing with interdimensional beings! No one had time to memorize four thousand different languages, and if you met someone hot at a bar, you would need to know how to communicate. How to convey very basic ideas such as "so, you wanna get naked?" and "you're not a hooker, are you?" and "you don't have Space Herpes, right?"

"All necessary and valid questions. So pair off, hook up, but remember, no 'language!'" Barney loved him some air quotes.

Except the language of loooooove. Or drunken regrettable hook-ups. Close enough! Now go!

Sam really hated this class sometimes, and it was showing in his first natural expression.

Alec tried to catch Sam's eye.

Sam glanced over at Alec and paled a little when he saw Alec looking his way.

Quelling the amused grin that wanted to spread across his face, Alec bit his lip and gave Sam sexy "you know you want this" eyebrows.

And that would be Sam staring openly at Alec and looking disturbed.

Ahah, but he was looking, still!

Alec waggled his eyebrows then and drew a circle on his t-shirt, presumably in the area of his nipple, while giving Sam a blatant come-hither look.

Sam made a strangled noise before he could stop himself, and put his head down on his desk, hopefully before Alec could start doing something even worse.

Dawn caught the expression from across the room and countered it with a big pout.

Sam pouted in return, like he couldn't believe they were doing this.

She winked, then blew him a kiss.

Sam rolled his eyes, but smiled and blew a kiss back.

And now she was staring at him, open-mouthed, like she couldn't believe he'd done that in a room containing his brother and Alec.

That got a full grin from Sam. He liked being able to occasionally surprise Dawn.

She grinned back, then wandered closer to Sam, purposely making her walk a little Faith-ier than usual.

Sam watched Dawn intently, and gave her a flirty look. Or, tried to give her a flirty look, at least.

On a scale of one to Harkness, it rated at least a seven, in Dawn's opinion. She stopped directly in front of Sam and looked up, grinning innocently at him.

Sam looked down at Dawn, and attempted to give her a seductive look. That might have worked better than the flirty one.

Ohboy.

Dawn swallowed, hard, and bit down on her lower lip in what she hoped was a more alluring than nervous-looking motion.

Sam found it alluring, and that seemed to be all that mattered right now. He gave Dawn a look that tried to show he was interested in her.

She took a few steps closer to Sam, moving her hand until it was millimeters away from resting on his chest.
