"Right! So. Wasn't here last week, was I? I'm sure the TA," he gave Seely a look that had a barely restrained eyeroll accompanying it, "kept you all busy in my absence. Got off to a slow start, which is sometimes a good thing when you're bouncing around the known universe." Why yes, he was being a big hypocrite. He seemed to know it to some degree too, because he was getting uncomfortable. "And, well, let's not even get started on the unknown universe. Anyway! Moving on. Let's go somewhere different."

The Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver at the Danger Shop controls and, although it could be said that the Danger Shop was somewhat disgruntled by being messed with by a sonic device (which wasn't in any way important for next week's workshop), it complied and their surroundings changed.

"Welcome to the year 200,100. We're not too far from home, a little step out and away from the planet Earth, which is just down there. You can probably find an observation deck if you look hard enough. This is Satellite 5, the largest communications station in the solar system, if I remember rightly. I usually do. Take a look around. Get something to eat. Mingle." He scratched behind his ear and tried not to look too pleased at throwing them into the thick of it, "I'd watch out for some of those rooms though. You might find yourself facing a fate worse than death. Well, not death." He paused and looked upward in thought. "No, on second thought, worse than death. Definitely."

If you found yourself in this room, the door would lock behind you and you would be in a dark television studio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNmt626lUcg) with several podiums surrounding a robot. The Anne-Droid to be precise. There were places for several contestants. Best not to get too many answers wrong. The Danger Shop won't let the Anne-Droid kill you, but her mouth-laser stings.

After the shock of being locked in, Rodney looked around the room and recognized the quiz show set-up. He figured this wouldn't be too bad. After all, he was quite good at Jeopardy. With that thought in mind, Rodney confidently took a place at one of the open podiums.

The Anne-Droid cut to the chase and started the round. "Who will be the weakest link?" Her podium turned towards Rodney. "Rodney. What unit of measurement is used to measure the hotness of hot peppers?"

A food question. Good start. "Scoville units," Rodney answered.

"Correct." The Anne-Droid turned to deal with the others, then returned to Rodney. "Rodney. What ancient computer term is short for 'binary digit'?"

"Bit," Rodney answered quickly.

Jenny wandered into this room and was startled by the door locking. For about half a second. Then she groaned, "Figures," and started looking around. She could always make her way out through the electrical system, she figured.

Hmmm. This seemed...familiar somehow.

"Jenny," the Anne-Droid said once she was done with Rodney. "The main components of steel are iron and what?"

"Carbon," Jenny said promptly. One couldn't hang around an engineering genius like, you know, the Engineer without picking up a thing or two.

"Correct." The Anne-Droid turned to the others, then back to Jenny. "Jenny. The famous spirit from Bundaberg, Australia is what kind of alcohol?"

A question about alcohol? For Jenny? Seriously? "Rum. D'you have any?"

"Oh come on!" Marco complained when he figured out what was going - which took him a minute.

Once she was done with Rodney and Jenny, the Anne-Droid turned her podium to Marco. "Marco. What is the tallest mountain on Earth?"

"...Mount Everest?" Marco said, naming the only mountain he was sure was on Earth.

"Correct." The Anne-Droid turned back to the others to ask questions, then to Marco again. "Marco. What was the capital of Japan before Tokyo?"

The Anne-Droid waited for the sound effects, then spoke to the contestants. "The round is over. It's time to vote for who you think is...the weakest link!"

Jenny voted for the Anne-Droid. She didn't even have any rum. Weak.

"That is not a valid vote. You have been disqualified. You are the weakest link. Goodbye!" A laser appeared out of her mouth and aimed at Jenny.

"Ow!" Jenny complained. "That hurt, you stupid cow!"

Rodney considered his fellow contestants and then wrote 'Marco' on his screen. He certainly didn't want to piss off Jenny.

"Rodney. You chose Marco. Why?"

"Oh, well he had the most incorrect answers that round," Rodney stated logically. "Plus, Jenny's not someone I want on my bad side."

Marco considered this very carefully and voted for Jeff, even though he wasn't even the class and he hadn't actually met the guy.

Marco's comment was not meant for a PG audience. Or a PG-13 one at that.
