Galactic Vacationing - Wednesday, Period 4

"Right! So. Wasn't here last week, was I? I'm sure the TA," he gave Seely a look that had a barely restrained eyeroll accompanying it, "kept you all busy in my absence. Got off to a slow start, which is sometimes a good thing when you're bouncing around the known universe." Why yes, he was being a big hypocrite. He seemed to know it to some degree too, because he was getting uncomfortable. "And, well, let's not even get started on the unknown universe. Anyway! Moving on. Let's go somewhere different."

The Doctor pointed his sonic screwdriver at the Danger Shop controls and, although it could be said that the Danger Shop was somewhat disgruntled by being messed with by a sonic device (which wasn't in any way important for next week's workshop), it complied and their surroundings changed.

"Welcome to the year 200,100. We're not too far from home, a little step out and away from the planet Earth, which is just down there. You can probably find an observation deck if you look hard enough. This is Satellite 5, the largest communications station in the solar system, if I remember rightly. I usually do. Take a look around. Get something to eat. Mingle." He scratched behind his ear and tried not to look too pleased at throwing them into the thick of it, "I'd watch out for some of those rooms though. You might find yourself facing a fate worse than death. Well, not death." He paused and looked upward in thought. "No, on second thought, worse than death. Definitely."

Explore the Station

The common area was bursting with people coming and going and stopping for something to eat or drink. The Doctor passed out credit bars to be used to buy things. Pity it was only good for keeping within the Danger Shop. There were corridors leading off the main area with its piercing bright light that led to an observation deck where you could view the Earth from orbit. Then, of course, there were all the other rooms.

Lee took his credit bar thing and found his way over to what looked like a merchant selling shoes.

The shoes were ugly.

Lee moved on.

Ella wasn'tr hungry, so she got a glass of what tasted like tangy fruit juice and took it to the observation deck. this was fascinating.

Liir wasn't hungry, as he'd been working in a kitchen all morning, and he wasn't particularly thirsty because he generally wasn't.

And he didn't really give half a fig about Earth.

As such, he wandered away from the main concourse.

Rodney spent a little while in the observation deck admiring the view. And by 'admiring,' he meant calculating the orbit of the station.

Worf surveyed the station with interest.

He also might be looking for another wolf thing to appear.

Jenny spent her time trailing her fingers over the bulkheads and things, wondering what was up with this place's weird power flow patterns. It got her distracted.

The bright light started giving Inara a headache after a little while, so she wandered from the main area and down the hallways.

Cal eyed the credit bar before eying other things to see if they were worth using it on, but, for the most part, he found himself on the observation deck, quietly taking in the view.

Alec bought something to eat, something to drink, and flirted briefly with a girl he had been standing next to in line. Then there was the obligatory appreciation of the view.
