Journalism Class - Thursday October 6

Spider looks like he hasn't slept in a week, and has obviously been chain-smoking with his cat. If he had hair, he'd be in the middle of a bad hair day. Even his tattoos look like they hurt. He has a giant vat of coffee on the edge of his paper-strewn desk, there are take-out boxes everywhere, and he's muttering pretty much constantly under his breath.

The back of the room has fresh coffee with all the fixings, gourmet snacks and tidbits and the screens are running playback feed from last night's debate.

Again, on the screen behind him, there's a message:

Today - Villians. Discuss. Yadda Yadda. Tomorrow we'll be doing a class project tying all three themes together. Double credit.




((OOC: The player is aware that there have been four themes. Spider is just very tired.))

"Admirable," Jake says, suppressing the urge to reach out and pat Phoebe. "Um. Okay, so what's your stand on the Coffee issue?" That is her own question, and Chloe hadn't protested, although she'd rolled her eyes.

"Good answer!" Jaks says approvingly.

Phoebe grins at Jake.

Jake looks back down at her questions. "Hm. Okay, do you think you can be a uniting figure... person... thing for the student body? If so, why?"

Phoebe grins at Jake.

"By helping to pass out weapons to people when we're under attack?" She smiles. "Seriously, though, I do think I can be a uniting figure head. The thing is, it's not just the President who should consider this, but the whole council."

She runs a hand through her hair. "I have a lot of friends, both human and non-human. I reach out to anyone that needs me or that I see being treated unfairly. It's why I'm no longer running on my previous ticket. I believe that if you feel strongly about something, you should be willing to stand up for it, no matter the consequences.

"If I get elected? I have many plans. However, all plans fail if there is no interest. I want to organize events to get each student willing to learn from and interact with their fellow students."

"What kind of events? Just off the top of your head?" Jake is scribbling madly, only taking small breaks for coffee.

Phoebe ponders this for a moment.

"Things like festivals and carnivals, for instance. Events that get people working and interacting together. Maybe a few specialized field trips to different homelands. There's a plethora of things that are waiting to be discovered and done."

Jake nods, finishing her scribling. "Thanks a lot, Phoebe. Got enough now, I think." She smiles. "Good luck on the debates and stuff."
