The inside of the Danger Shop resembled what the students might have seen if they ventured down the causeway. Spread out on the tables were a number of rice dishes, in various consistencies, and with various additives of fruit, vegetable, and meat variety. There were also a number of meat and vegetable dishes, and a great number of what looked like cakes and fritters.

After the class had arrived, Bond began. "As you no doubt have noticed by now, the island has moved again, this time to Madagascar," he said. "Now, as it so happens, shortly coming to Fandom, I spent some time here, and had the good fortune to become familiar with some of the local dishes." He left out the part where he would have become overly familiar with them if he'd actually been caught while taking his leave of the country.

After a moment's pause, he continued. "As you can see, the staple grain used here is rice..."

"One final thing before we begin," Bond said after he finished his lecture. "Next week will be our final class, so I would like you all to bring in a dish from your homeland for the rest of the class to try."

It's all terribly interesting I'm sure.

Ned was still trying to wrap his head around being in a new place after resigning himself to the fact that a volcano was about to erupt and melt the island the day before.

Ella listened to the lecture. The fritters, at least, looked good.

Hoshi was listening with interest, but she was hungry and all she wanted to do was dig into the food.

Francine was so pleased not to be a pile of volcanic ash that honestly he could have been reading the phone book out loud and she would have smiled happily along. ...Of course this was true regardless of lava-proximity because hello, accent.

There's both reasonably healthy and mmm tastily greasey!

Ned took a little bit of each dish, trying them out and finding that they weren't that bad.

Ella tried a bit of everything, delighted to find the fritters and fruit were all wonderful.

Hoshi tried a little bit of everything, but went back for seconds on the fruit and desserts.

Mmmm, ginger beef.

Last time he came to Madagascar he ended up in the papers, whoops.

Aravis was there! On time and everything.
