How to Be the Best at What You Do - Thursday, Period 2

Logan walked into the Danger Shop right after everyone else was settled. "You've had those poker chips for two weeks. First things first, let's see if you actually made any improvement with them. And while you're doing that, tell me something you learned from the karate movie."

After that activity it was time for the actual class to start. "Today we're gonna be combining a few of the skills we've worked on over the past few weeks. Since we're currently in a part of the world that's nothing but beach, we're gonna make sand castles. Three groups this time. First group is the people who are gonna make the sand castles. You're working on your creative skills. Second group is people trying to knock the sand castles down. You're working on strategy and physical skills. Third group is people protecting the sand castles. You're working on defensive skills."

"Attackers, you can do whatever you want to knock the castles down, but remember: if you hurt anyone, you're in trouble. Defenders, no pre-emptive strikes. When an attack comes, either get in its way or get something else in its way. Castle builders, no fighting back. Just keep on building your castle. Think like an ant. If it gets knocked over, just go to work getting it back together again."

[OOC: Sleep now, work until Thursday evening.]

Reno idly flipped the poker chip over the back of his hand. That much was easy enough. The real challenge was coming up with a good bullshit lesson to be learned from a movie he kinda slept through last class.

"If you ever wanna be a freakin' master, don't go into formal training to learn it. Go ask some old hack who really just wants you to wax his car, yo."

Okay. So he'd woken up here and there, anyhow.

Michael was pretty good with the poker chips. Dexterity for the win.

Ino had totally not been practicing with the poker chip but she was more than good enough at it anyway. Yay for ninja training.

Ino just... fiddled with her pen for the other bit. Oh. Right. That movie where she'd not paid attention. La la la.

Johnny... forgot to practice with his poker chip. He did a pretty good imitation of knowing what he doing though - least till his chip went flying.

Blair was pretty good with her chip. This is what happened when you were obsessive about things that made you look good. As for the movie,

"I learned the usefulness of attempting to 'sweep the leg'."

Suprising everyone, and mostly himself, Marco actually managed to do the poker chip trick. "Wax on, wax off?"

Jack was decent at it. A bit better with flipping a pen, but he could make it work.

"If you give it your all, you'll win, no matter what."

Turtle had the poker chip thing down pretty darn well; it got a little hairy at the ends (no pun to Mister Logan intended!), but still pretty darn good.

As far as the film went? "You're not going to get anything done if you don't try, but I kind of already knew that."

Dean was pretty good with the poker chip. As for the movie...

"Taking care of your car can be an essential part of training," he said.
raspberryturk: (Hmm.)

Reno? Was such an aggressive kind of guy that it would have been absurd for him to even consider being a builder or a defender.

That, and today felt like a good day to try to smash stuff.

If all else failed, he'd try to bribe the defenders with drinks at Caritas.

Oh come on. Like she was going to do anything else, seriously. Ino bounced slightly.

Johnny flamed up.

What? Logan said they could do anything.

Working like an ant sounded a great deal like being a laborer. Blair went for being an attacker instead.

Jamie had created a bunch of dupes and had them stand shoulder to shoulder.

None shall pass.

Michael was not above dumping attackers in the ocean.

He'd pull them back out if they couldn't swim, of course.

Jack decided he'd be the best damn castle builder here, and set to work with it, making one that made up in size what it lacked in detail. Or beauty.

And if someone managed to knock it down? Hell, he'd just make it bigger!

[gone to work 12 hr shift. pls to be modding Jack working ant-like to rebuild.]
