You will find in my classes the grading evaluations are quite liberal. I encourage class participation and discussion. From discussion springs a widening of intellect and knowledge. As we learn our History, we hopefully learn from our History.


Introduction to World History to 1600 (Terran)
MWF 1:00-3:00 pm

Course description: This course will survey the history of the world from the beginnings of civilization in the Near East to the European encounter with the non-Western world. Topics covered will include the history of early civilizations in the Near East, China, India, Japan, and sub-Saharan Africa, the classical cultures of Greece and Rome, the world of the Middle Ages, the emergence of European monarchies, and the impact of the Renaissance and the Reformation.

Course Prerequisites: None



East Asian History
MTTh 6:00-8:00 pm

Course description: A specific emphasis on the history of China, Japan, Korea and India spanning approximately from 710 to 1900’s

Course Prerequisites: None



History of the Ancient World
TTh 12:30-3:30 pm

Course description: A closer examination of the beginnings of civilization in Egypt and Mesopotamia, the rise and decline of Greece, the Roman Republic and Empire to 180 A.D.

Course Prerequisites: None



Grade Evaluation:
• Class participation 50%
• Written assignments 15%
• Exams 35%
