Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was lovely thanks to the island's new location, and even though it had been less than a week, there was no sign anywhere on the school lawn that part of the land had sunk and collapsed during graduation.

That didn't stop everyone from setting things up away from where the graduates had been seated, of course.

There were tables and chairs and plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and three signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, one listing rooms and roommates for the new students, and one listing the cabin assignments.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP. This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

"You're Giselle?" Lee asked, wincing a bit and trying to cover it. "You're...I'm Lee. Does that name mean anything to you?"

"Well, someone said that to me, but I'm on the way to the castle to get married," Giselle said. She tilted her head at the look. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he assured her. "It's just...there's no castle here. I'm supposed to be your big brother."

"Oh yes there is," Giselle said. She gestured up to the school. "See? I think they must know Edward there."

"That's actually a school," Lee said as gently as he could manage. "Not a castle. People learn things there."

"Not a castle?" her shoulders drooped for second but she recovered quickly. "Well, I'm sure Edward will come for me then. It's a very pretty school. What do you learn there?"

"All sorts of things," Lee said quickly. "What sorts of things do you like? I bet we have a class that you could take."

"I'm sure you do," she said, completely innocently. "I like all sorts of things. Singing and spinning silk from my silkworms and falling off things telling stories."

Okay, she was...different. "Storytelling! I bet we have some sort of creativity class. I'm taking a...justice course and a course on vacations."

"Justice?" Giselle's eyes widened (if that were possible). "Are you a prince too, Lee?"

"You're welcome," Lee said, amused. "Um. Do you have any other clothes?"

"Other clothes?" she asked, looking down at herself, her hands unconsciously smoothing down the frizz of her hair. "No, well, see, I was going to my wedding..."

"It's okay, it's all right," he said quickly. "Worst comes to worst, you can wear some of mine because that dress is going to get uncomfortable and hard to maneuver in."

"Oh, that's very kind of you to offer, but I can make a new dress," Giselle assured him. "And perhaps there'll be kind woodland creatures here who'll help me like they do at home."

Her eyes widened at the language, and Giselle took a moment or two to bring herself to speak again, her hands fluttering up to her mouth. "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Well, maybe they just want to be friends? Or to be spoken to nicely? Trolls can be like that, you know."

"They like to bite," Lee repeated. "And it's not a love bite. Don't try to make friends with them, Giselle. I don't want to see you on the roof, singing showtunes in your underwear."
