Maths For Real Life, Period 1, Final [4/21]

"Good morning," Jean-Paul said, "your finals are on your desk. There will be no talking. If you attempt telepathy I will know and smack you. Begin."

1) Panic. Then calm down and make sure I know where all my money and documents are. Then get really nervous waiting to find out what's up.

2) With no money at all I'm pretty much out of luck. I need at least a down payment and an assurance for the bank that I'm good for the loan.

3) Come up with a budget and stick to it carefully. Remembering that it's a vacation and I need to budget money for random fun.

4) It all depends. The money is good but am I in a long term lease in Houston? How hard will it be to get out of such a thing, and will it be a hassle finding a place to stay in San Fran? Also can I afford to go in the first place? And how attatched am I to life in Houston? If it's just about the pay, then yes.

5) Handwave. Robin understood it slightly.

Cedric stared at the math exam for awhile before starting and finishing somewhat confidently.

He probably did all right.

Liir answered the questions in clear, concise language with well thought out, reasonable answers. He even did the extra credit.

It was, however, written in what many would term 'Lolcat' and/or 'cat macro' due to some lasting effects from his weekend as a kitten.

Can has good grade?

Troy worked his way through the math final, pausing and deliberating at a few points.

He did more or less okay -- not spectacularly, but far from failing.

As to the extra credit question, he rather thought that Professor Beaubier might approve of his answer: "No. Not then. No, not then, either. Not even then. ... Okay, maybe then, but only if you agree to pay back what you spend onto the card IMMEDIATELY. Like, not even at the end of the month, just use card, like, online, and then pay onto the card what you just spent. Build credit without using credit!

"... But probably not even then."

Harry did ok on the exam. Not great, but ok. And he even managed not to give any smartass answers, though the temptation was great indeed.

As for the extra credit... Somehow writing wizard on my resume doesn't seem like it'll generate a lot of cash flow. Credit may be my only hope! Still...debt is bad. Not a fan. So maybe. If I have to.

Jeff wrote. And he wrote. And he wrote. And he wrote.

It went on for a bit. There were some graphs involved in places. Maybe 'some' was an understatement, and 'places' might have been all.

A lot of graphs. A lot of graphs referencing market figures. Apparently dating a teenage capitalist genius had its upsides.

All in all, his exam was nothing if not comprehensive.

Far be it from Adah to be the type to not pay attention in (most) classes. Her answers were short, but concisely so, covering all the things that had been covered in class pretty well.

Michael answered all the questions, mostly accurately.
