Fandom Invasions, Class #12 (Week 13, Thursday Period 4)

The Danger Shop was made to look up some of the rockier parts of the Preserve at night when the students came in.

"Good morning," John greeted them. "We've covered zombies already, today we're going to cover another type of walking dead. Mummies.

"There was a mummy problem here about two years ago. It started with someone reading from the wrong book -- which is more common in causing bad things to happen than you might think. Basically, if a book looks creepy, especially if it's in a language unfamiliar to you, discretion may be the better part of valour." He smiled slightly. "There's a reason we limit access to the special collections in the library.

"Anyhow, while trying to avoid inadvertently summoning bad things by reading the wrong book is the lesson I want you to take from this class, we're going to focus on what you have to do when something is summoned." John grinned wolfishly. "Namely kick its butt. Have at it as you would."

Reading an unfamiliar language from a strange book? Yeah, that sounded like something Hoshi would do. She made a note to be more careful.

She barely even looked at books unless she needed them to study. Geez.

Okay, Alex had dealt with mummies before, or at least had wizarding lessons centered around them. They were usually nice folk, just misunderstood. Alex was pretty sure the kind of mummy Professor Winchester was talking about did not fall under that category.

Liir groaned but hoped that his lessons with Ino and the sword drills would be useful when utilized with a reasonably sized rock.

He really didn't want to fight.

Sulley wasn't too bothered by mummies. They were human-sized and probably annoyed at being woken up from the dead without their internal organs. Anyone would be once they found of they were missing their liver.

Ino bounced lightly on her feet. Glad to be a girl again, glad for the chance to hurt something, and very very glad that it was sloooowly getting closer to 5 p.m.
