"Oh yeah...what happened with that? I got there late and Parker didn't want to talk about it," Rory says, intrigued. "And I'm glad to hear things are going to well with Marty," she adds with a smile.

Angela rolls her eyes, more than a little exasperated with herself. She lowers her voice and glances around to make sure no one is listening to them before she speaks. "Parker had Phoebe put this prortection spell on the meeting, so it would be private. For some reason I thought it was a truth spell, so I told her about my whole experience with Angelus. And then Beka Valentine came in, and apparently she's having sex with Angelus, and so Parker and I were kind of yelling at her. Then Beka stormed out and Parker, like, quit the campaign."

"Like I said ... all the drama I need for the week."

"Parker quit?" Rory asks, arching her brows, then abruptly lowering them and gingerly touching her forehead.

"We don't have a campaign manager anymore? Except Logan, I mean, but...well, I'm the first to admit that he's got a bias about who he's going to promote," she says sheepishly. "But...and Beka's sleeping with Angelus? And how does that have anything to do with...anything?"

Angela shakes her head. "I couldn't really follow the whole Parker thing. Check with her about whether she really quit or if it was just a dramatic effect thing."

"You're probably right that it's not, like, my business who Beka sleeps with, especially given who I'm dating. It just ... seemed relevant at the time."

Angela scrunches her lips, trying to come up with something happy. "Oh, I did get to talk to Anya. She's interesting."

"Yeah, Anya's...Anyam" Rory says, shrugging. "And I didn't mean to imply you were out of line with the Beka thing or anything. I just don't get why that would upset Parker enough to make her quit - or threaten to, in any case."

Angela rolls her eyes. "I don't know, I was just sort of pissed off by the whole thing. I think what it is is that Beka loves to talk about how she's this big protector and she's there for people like you and me. I just ... I don't see how she can see herself that way, and then go and screw a guy who's scared the crap out of at least me and Maia."

She taps a pen against her teeth thoughtfully. "But I'm not sure why Parker cared so much. You'd have to ask her."

"And me," Rory says, raising a hand slightly. "Angelus pretty much terrifies me. But I can't be too much against him - he saved my life a few times over zombie weekend. Plus...part of my platform is that I care about all the students, regardless of race or species or whatever." She shrugs apologetically.

"But I know what you mean about the Beka thing - she made this whole big deal about protecting the 'average' students...that is kind of hypocritical."

"I'm seriously not one of the students who's like, let's lock up everybody who's different," Angela says earnestly. "Two of my closest friends here are Paige and Phoebe, and you know what they and Piper can do. And Hank McCoy is incredibly sweet. So I wouldn't even care that Angelus is a vampire if he just left people alone."

"And that's exactly what bugs me about Beka. The hypocrisy. Though she says she didn't know he had threatened me when they had sex." Angela sighs. "It's just a big mess, isn't it?"

"Ugh," Rory says, dropping her head into her hands, "why does all the drama have to happen on the same night?"

She looks up. "Okay. So, yeah...that's really weird about Beka. I don't get that. I mean, I was talking to her the other day about how Angelus freaks me out a little, and she was totally understanding. She seems so...sweet." She shakes her head. "It just doesn't make sense."

Angela shrugs. "She told me she did have really bad taste in men. Maybe she just likes playing on the edge. Like, she feels better about herself when she's with really rotten people. Or not-people, in Angelus' case." Angela rolls her eyes. "Whatever, I'm just going to try to decide it's not my problem." She closes her notebook and sticks it in her bag as though closing the book on Beka.

"Hey, are you still up for homecoming dress shopping?"

"Absolutely," Rory says with a grin. "I would love some nice, non-dramatic, non-vampire-involving, Logans-less shopping. When do you want to go?"

Angela looks at her watch. "Um, now works," she says.

[OOC: I'm kind of thinking that "now" = "whenever Deb posts that the diner's open." Also, I have to go out tonight and I know you have the debates, so we can slowplay it or pick it up late tonight. Does that work for you?]

[ooc: I not only have debates tonight - I have class until 9:30 EST. So slow-play works beautifully]

[OOC: I read it as "Anya's Anyan," which also makes sense. Also, I lost track of exactly who was saying what during the Parker/Beka showdown, especially because there was OOC confusion. Rory should not trust that Angela is being especially accurate here.]

[ooc: Oh, no worries. I'm just very, very confused about the whole thing, and trying to catch up. Reading the thread just made things more confusing, and Parker's mun hasn't gotten back to me yet.]
