On her way by, Kiki leans over and whispers, "Any luck yet?"

Duce looks up from her org chart and shakes her head sadly, whispering, "No. We saw him last night..but.. he.. still hasn't talked to Willow yet. He said he wants to make sure she's on the same page and .. y'know.. knows they're not together anymore, but he's having a helluva hard time getting in touch with her." Sighing miserably, she adds, "Couldn't ask him, not with that hanging out there. So we still .. don't know."

Idly doodling on the margin of her notebook, little hatches appear with DO+ASC, inside a little cloud. Little musical notes join around the cloud, and if the anyone reading is literate in music, they'd be the chorus for 'Danny Boy'.

Glancing over at what her hand is doing, Duce hastily covers the doodles with another piece of paper, making a face at it.

Her next words come out small and sad, "We're thinking we might just.. go, by ourself. That way, if he wants to go, we'd.. be there, but he wouldn't have to, if he didn't want to. There isn't much time until Homecoming and we're not sure his ..thing.. with Willow will be resolved."

Changing the subject, she asks, "How much do we owe you for the delivery? We saw you called, but can't get voicemail while inside school. Stupid cement walls."

"There just has to be a way to make him see what he's missing right in front of his face," Kiki observes. Then, seeing that Duce doesn't really want to discuss Oz further, Kiki nods sympathetically and moves on to the next subject. Kiki had been in touch with Willow once or twice regarding the Wildcrafting Club, but hadn't seen hide or hair of her in weeks.

"It's just $3.50," Kiki answers, giving what she hopes is a morale-boosting smile. "You get the friend's discount."

Duce sighs and nods. Smiling at the change of subject, she pulls a crumpled $5 out of her pocket. "We don't have anything smaller.. so.. consider it a friend's tip. We appreciate you bringing the pie to Red. Did he like it? He's a cherry addict."

[ooc: Hurrah!! I just got home - was taking my BF to the airport. Long-distance relationship :( So to keep me from feeling all weepy, I'm devoting my night to FH!]

Kiki pockets the money, "Thanks! He loved it. Jiji was a bit nervous about the visit, but I liked Red quite a lot." Jiji's tail still looks a bit like a stick of black fuzz.
