*Paige bites her lip and lowers her voice sounding upset* I've not eaten since Geoff left

"WHAT!" Maia turns furiously to Paige "Are you crazy?"

Phoebe has heard this and she looks no happier than Maia sounds.

"Sweetie...why?"

*Paige starts crying again* I tried, honestly I did, I just couldn't *she bites her lip* I had a piece of tuna in Cat yesterday

"so let me get this straight, you've been starving yourself for what? so that Geoff can visit you in the hospital when he gets back?" Maia has her voice down but is still looking furious

*Paige looks sad* I've not been starving myself, I've been trying to eat, I just couldn't!

Maia still look furious, she turns to Phoebe "You've been eating right? Just want to know so I don't have to cary you to the clinic as well." Maia is beyond angry at Paige right now turning back to her. "You tried and couldn't?" Maia looks disgusted now. "Why can't you?"

I just couldn't *Page snaps back*

Maia frowns not liking Paige's tone of voice. "What would Geoff say Paige? If you claimed you couldn't eat?"

"He'd understand, anyway if Geoff were here everything would be ok wouldn't it?"

Maia glares. "That the point Paige, do you think Geoff would like it knowing that you went off eating because he went away. That your so involved with him and the fact he is not here that you neglect to take care of yourself while he is away. I don't think he would understand that all Paige. Do you?"

*Paige burst into tears* I just want him back here!

Maia is immediatly sorry for being so stern and rushes to hug Paige and kiss her cheeks to make it better. "I'm sorry Paige. I know you do darling. I-I just can't bear the thought of something happening to you."

Paige nods slowly, "I'll eat, really I will." She bites her lip and forces a smile, "I need my strength for homecoming right?"

Maia holds Paiges hand stroking it lightly feeling like a total jerk now.

"Yeah, you need to wear that beautiful dress." Maia gently brushes the hair away from the knot on Paiges head. "You should get that looked at sweetie."

*Paige nods* I should maybe eat first though right?, *she looks at Maia* Don't tell Geoff about this ok?

Maia frowns at the last part and ignores Paige's request. "Yeah, you should maybe..We can grab something in the cafeteria on the way to the clinic you think?"

Beka enters study hall and looks about a little awkwardly. Paige is crying. Paige's voicemail left her sure Paige and she were all right, but she's surrounded by her sisters.

Beka is a Valentine. She did what she did for reasons she believes in. She'll answer for it, but she will. not. be. cowed. She strides toward Paige.

"Paige..." she says softly. "What's happened? Are you hurt?" She shakes her head. "I should've stayed with you last night."

Phoebe smiles a little at Beka and then turns back o her sister.

Beka nods, a small smile playing over her lips. Maybe, she thinks, I didn't do quite as much damage to myself as I feared.

Paige looks a Beka, "No I'm not hurt and it's ok you staying last night wouldn't have helped. I'll be ok" She pauses, "I've just been really stupid that's all"

Beka gives her a wry look. "Stupid is my middle name. I know all about it. I take it your stupid has to do with Geoff?"

Paige nods, "Will you take me to the clinic? I'll explain there"

Phoebe frowns at Maia. "Eating and drinking, as you well know from yesterday."

"Thank you Phoebe." Maia sighs "At least you have body and mind to take care of yourself. Maybe Paige needs to take a page out of your book."

Maia frowns, "I am sorry to snap I just, I care about you guys and not taking care of yourself kinda undercuts people who care about you."
