It had been quite a while into class and Deadpool hadn’t shown up yet. Even though he was a little nervous about it, as TA, Sora took it upon himself to teach the class in Deadpool’s place.

It’s what he’d want him to do, right?

Going over to his desk Sora rummaged through the papers there trying to find some sort of lesson plan or hand out or something for them to do!

There was lots of papers just doodled with things that Sora didn’t want to think too much about before he finally came across the right thing.

“ALRIGHT!” He shouted more loudly than he meant to. “Uh, I mean ao uh for class today Deadpool wanted us to uhmm.” Sora paused to look through the papers and hand outs really quick.

“Interrogations and enhanced interrogation techniques. What the heck’re those?” He paused again and read through them all paying more attention to detail. “Oh man!” Sora groaned, his face going red.

“So yah, um here are some hand outs about the different kind of interrogation.” He said passing out the first two. “Deadpool wanted us to pair up with each other and practice uhm what’s in the first two hand outs, and then I really think the third one is just for our reference. He left explicit notes that no one was supposed to do anything on the third hand out, okay? He’s really serious about that!”

Sora was such a horrible liar.

That got a bubbling laugh. "You think Deadpool-san can't handle a bunch of squirrels?"

"We don't know what the squirrels here can do", Michael said darkly.

"Well, yeah, but they're squirrels. Sneaky and rum-obsessed doesn't mean that they could take out Deadpool-san. Deadpool-san's crazy strong."

"There's a lot of them out there", he countered.

"I still think they'd go after an easier target than Deadpool-san though..."

"Maybe they thought he was worth more. Or they like a challenge."

"Maybe someone bribed the squirrels with rum to kidnap him! Like, Deadpool-san's bodyweight in rum. They'd probably think tha was worth the effort for sure."

"Now you're getting it."

"That'd be a lot of rum though," Ino said, still trying to work through the logistics of this, "can you imagine how drunk they'd get off that much? Can squirrels get alcohol poisoning?"

"Probably. But maybe they'd ration it, not drink it all at once."

"You do remember the squirrel from Invasions right? Did he look like he knew how to ration things?" Ino raised her eyebrows.

"But he was only one", Michael said with a grin. "Between the whole colony, maybe it wouldn't hurt them."

"Deadpool-san's bodyweight in rum." Ino was pretty sure that'd hurt any amount of squirrels. "That can't be healthy for anything."

"But they wouldn't all be drinking his bodyweight", Michael said reasonably. "Anyway, why does the person who bribed them care?"

"Deadpool-san's got lots of enemies from what I understand," Ino said, "so there could be many nefarious reasons for this nefarious plot."

She just liked the word 'nefarious'.

"No, I mean, why should the person care about squirrels getting alcohol poisoning, if they get what they want?"

"I don't think they'd care at all," Ino was getting confused, "but you'd think the squirrels would care, you know?"

"They're rum-obsessed alcoholic squirrels. They really wouldn't."

She shrugged. "I wouldn't know? I've never actually known someone who was an alcoholic... it just doesn't make sense that they wouldn't care."

"It doesn't make sense", Michael agreed with an overly casual shrug.

Ino eyed him.

Then took a wild guess.

"Hank?" She asked quietly, glancing around to see if anyone else was listening.

"We'll talk about it later", he said quickly. "Give me your theory about Deadpool."

"Alright," she said lightly, though her expression made it clear that she wasn't going to let him get away with putting her off for long, "well, about Deadpool-san, see, what happened was that he probably ooooh, pissed off the natives in Mexico, possibly by oogling one of the daughters of some really rich guy and the rich guy took exception to it and since he's got 'connections' and stuff, he bribed the squirrels with a load of rum and'll be transporting Deadpool-san to a secluded spot to make it clear that he's not to do that again?"

Ino should probably not ever be asked to come up with a cover story on the fly.

"So does he need rescuing, in your version, or will he show up tomorrow in triumph?"
