Choosing Your Own Government--Monday, Period 5, Class #9

Vala was excessively cheerful when the class entered. "Hello! I'm sorry I missed last week's class, but I had a wonderful time in Mexico, thank you for asking."

"I would also like to thank my wonderful assistant Evey if she's here." She left a copy of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence on Evey's desk as a thank you. "Today will be your midterm, and I would like to know what kind of government you would choose for your country--and at least five reasons why. Here's the thing, though. I'm not psychic, so I have no idea if you're telling the truth, so choose whatever government you have the best five reasons for and go with that."

"Yes, there are points for creativity. Aren't there always?"

Karal had his notebook out, pen at the ready, and it was a bit disconcerting to find the lectrue over before he could even start taking notes.

So he doodled a sun and a horse, and a flower that looked supiciously like the ones on plant he'd given Evey, while he thought about the question.

Gwynn spent a lot of handwavey time on this.

John didn't think long before handwavily scrawling down his answer. It was rather tongue in cheek and envisioned a country no one would ever want to live in.

Anemone thought about it for a bit before scrawling down an answer, with the disclaimer that no matter what government you chose, the citizenry is going to get screwed in the end, because that's just what government does.

After a lot of thought, Karal ended up choosing a theocracy, with the proviso that he was choosing this for Karse only.

There were a lot of reasosn for it, and he ended up writing more than five, but one of them was: Because it is what Vkandis Sunlord wants from us.

Karal thought that was an extremely compelling reason.

Cedric eyed the blank sheet of paper before writing democracy. As it was, he felt the people didn't get an equal say, the people in power could stay for as long as they wanted, there was little to no governing of the people in charge, there was no authority on who could be in charge, and the Ministry was far too secretive for it's own good. It needed to be more open.

Like Evey needed to spend much time on this.

Evey simply outlined her own country at home, with its roots in anarchy and the eventual formation of socialism and democracy within the government, plus her hopes for the future.

Eve thought entirely too hard about her handwavy answers. But they were good ones, dammit!

She was totally here all day.

Really, she was.
