Public Speaking, Wednesday, March 5

Richie was heavily caffinated and possibly vibrating in his seat. As soon as everyone was in class, he jumped up.

"So, I've spent the past two days waiting for my shoes to come back to life and try and kill me, and then I spent yesterday singing about it. I'm pretty sure there's something strange going on." He paused. "And if there isn't, I'm going to be so pissed that I've been walking outside in socks."

Richie was now sitting on the desk, swinging his socked feet. "A major part of speaking in public is sounding like you know things. Important things. Unfortunately, you're not all smart enough to always know things. So, it's important to know how to sound like you do."

"Today, I want you to tell me why my shoes are evil, and also why yesterday was like being in a musical happy hell. It's possible you do know these things--and if you don't, I want to believe that you do."

(OOC- I'm currently faking a knowledge of Tristram Shandy, so you can all feel my painful pain.)

"It was the fish, absolutely. I never did trust those fish. They're always smiling." Valentine wouldn't have doubted for a moment if it actually was fish.

"Typical shoe rebellion," Turtle offered with a nonchalant shrug. "The shoes responded, as I'm sure Jeff here will support me in, to the way they were treated as regular shoes, or as reflections of their owners personalities. The soul and the sole, as it were, are connected. So, if your shoes were evil, Mister Tozier, with all due respect, then perhaps it is merely a reflection of the larger issue at hand."

"Bursting into song is a natural phenomenon." Robin shrugged. "It happens all the time. What happens is, things just build up, and build up inside you, and you just let it out in the form of a song."

Turtle was there. And definitely not responsible. Don't even try to say that she was just about the only one who got along with her shoes as a defense, either.
