Study Hall -- Tuesday, October 4th

Welcome to the study hall for Tuesday. If anybody's looking for me, the gremlins are on an upswing today, so I'll be prowling around with a cricket bat and a CD player with Music To Bash Things With.

A few announcements:

-- Please go here to participate in the roll call of student clubs so that we can make sure that all student clubs are accounted for.

-- The student body is reminded that any student going to Homecoming will need to purchase tickets. Homecoming elections will be held this Friday, and Homecoming is this upcoming weekend. Also, in student council news, the Student Council Election Debates will be held Wednesday night, with the election itself taking place on Monday.

-- In other news, five teaching positions will be listed later on today for your perusal. We are in need of new teachers, so please check that out when the post is made.

-- For some fucking reason, Locker 327 has been in reverse all morning long and has been randomly spewing strange things into the halls. Someone should be repairing it later in the week, but until then, be aware of the dangers and be on guard accordingly.

-- In related news, there's a mime loose on campus. And no, you're not allowed to kill it. You are, however, allowed to mock and point.

Beka nods. "Let me know if I can help with...whatever. Otherwise, I'm good for distractions." Her tone is not unkind, but there's a hint of hidden sadness in it.

"Drunk off my ass. With Rogue, Cally, Anakin and Shep. Shep ended up in my bed, as part of a joke. I got to watch Anakin do some cool Jedi-tricks with Cally and Rogue. Auditioned new sex partners, I think." She eyes Sam with amusement. "Standard 'Rocket' Valentine I've screwed up my life so lets make it more interesting stuff."

Sam smiles. "I'm...sorry I missed it. It sounds like you had a good time."

I will not ask...I will not ask...~~Damnit, of course I will.~~"Jedi tricks? And Shep? I thought you guys hated each other."

~~If you've hurt Jack O'Neill in any way, I will take you to another planet and send you back through the Stargate when I know our iris is closed.~~

Sam sighs. "Yeah, I know how that goes. It looks like things are going well, then, wham!--dramas."

Beka shakes her head, still amused and slightly embarrassed. "If I'd thought you had any interest, I'd have called. Next time, I will. Sorry?"

How much do people know about Anakin? How much should I tell people that I know. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, but he's close with Angelus. "Parlor tricks. Pretending to float Cally and Rogue. Was pretty cool. As for me and Shep? We're friends, pretty good friends actually, we just get a rush out of tormenting each other."

Jack O'Neill is a wonderful, special man. We have an understanding, always have. No strings. Besides, he deserves better than me.

... Don't threaten me. And don't you hurt him.

"Around here? Drama is a daily occurence. Hourly even."

Sam shrugs. "I would have come, but I ended up having impromptu plans that night."

"Wow, pretending to float Cally and Rogue? I don't think I actually know Anakin, though. He must be a lot of fun at parties."

She smiles wistfully in remembrance of the early days on SG-1 when driving Jack O'Neill bananas was one of her small pleasures, then she frowns at the realization that in their past history, and Daniel's really the one who pulled on O'Neill's pigtails. Hmmm. ~~Maybe Jack had a point about Daniel. Not that Daniel would probably ever date again after this whole Janet mess...~~

She looks around at the chaos in the study hall classroom. "I know exactly what you mean." And speaking of drama, "By the way, have you seen Janet lately? I haven't seen her since Saturday night."

OOC: That's because I'm evil and AVOIDING you. Hah! ;)

OOC: Well, of course it is. How else could she get any seducing done?

OOC: Some best friend you are, trying to come between me and my ~~evil plot to take over the world~~ ~~ducklings~~ men. :P

OOC: Well, you know, friends don't let friends ~~start emo!dramas all over campus~~ take over the world.

OOC: If this turns into an intervention, does that make this the offical After School Special of Fandom High?

Thank God for the "an alien parasite made me do it" excuse.

OOC: *snicker* Went to a very strange place with that--Tracey Gold in a bad Hathor wig being talked to sternly by all her concerned friends (in bad 80s hair) about how starting emo!dramas is a bad thing and she should really just stop, because she's hurting everyone around her, but most especially herself.

I guess it's Janet's turn with the excuse--everybody else has used it at least twice.

Beka arches an eyebrow at the mention of plans. "Plans? Something fun, I hope."

Of course, Anakin actually did lift Rogue and Cally, and Beka feels guilty for not telling her curious friend that, but it's not her secret. "Anakin's a lot of... well, no, he's not usually fun. He broods a lot. But I like him."

~~Poor Daniel. We're pretty close. Should I check in on him? Or is he acting weird too?~~

"I've been staying out of Janet's way. She was pretty snappy with me the other night, and I thought maybe she was on that stay away from my man rampage that goes hand in hand with the first time you... you know. Seemed like a good idea to be scarce."

Sam smiles shyly and a very faint blush comes to her cheeks. "Yes, it did end up being a lot of fun, actually." She likes Beka--a lot, but there's that whole Jack 'thing' there now that keeps her from putting her total trust in her the way she does Janet.

"Broody's not always bad ~~unless it comes with a gay man's taste in clothing and an obsession with hair products~~ . A little mystery now and then is a good thing, actually. Keeps you on your toes."

Sam blushes, then curses her fair skin and adolescent hormones, because she does know--she's just not sure she knows in this particular body. Then she frowns. "Janet's not like that, I don't think. But when you say she was snappy, what do you mean? I'm hearing some stories from people, and it sounds like more than possessiveness to me."

Beka notes Sam's discomfort with the sex topic, and lets it drop for now. "I'm glad you had fun." A warm smile will hopefully tell Sam she understands and is just respecting her privacy.

She tries to remember the conversation with Janet. Closes her eyes to picture it clearly. "When I saw Janet, I'd gone to her room to ~~call Jack~~ see how she was after ~~being with Daniel~~ a long week of classes. There was cursing, or what sounded like cursing but it was a different language I think, stomping, and a lot of breakage inside the room.

"I asked her if she was all right. She said she was fine. But she was wearing Aeryn's tank top and a long skirt -- that was what made me think what I did about Daniel. She also had a whole lot of makeup on. ~~She looked gorgeous.~~ When I said she looked good and asked about the breakage inside the room, it was very weird.

"She got the bitchiest expression on her face and asked how dare I question her actions. That was my cue she was pissed at me, but I tried one more time, and said I was just concerned. She stalked off without another word. Haven't seen her since."

Sam smiles again over Sunday.

Janet cursing, stomping, and throwing things? "Was anyone injured? Was Jack there and being ~~himself~~ annoying?"

Wait, hold on a second..."Did you say she was cursing in another language?" Sam took a few minutes to swear fluently (and impressively) in the one language she knew.

With an incredible sense of foreboding and emptiness in the pit of her stomach, she asked, "Was she really imperious? Did she show an inordinate interest in anyone or anything."

Damn it, damn it, damn it.

(OOC: I should check the post to make sure it was another language if Sam's going to jump to that conclusion. Hang on.)

(OOC: Lost in the mists of time. So...)

"No one was injured, and no, Jack wasn't there. He was on that field trip."

Sam's distress upsets her, and it makes it hard to hold the details. "I'm not sure it was another language, Sam, OK? I was upset because I thought Janet was mad and I didn't know what I'd done. I may be Beka Valentine, but I still don't like it when my friends are pissed at me. So, don't base it off that. All right?"

"But as for the other... hm. Imperious. Like how? She didn't express an interest in anything particular, just in not being questioned about her actions."
