Fandom High School Host Club - Sunday, February 10 - Music Room: Late Afternoon

On this particular afternoon, soft classical music could be heard throughout the Music room at Fandom High. Tamaki had brought with him a small stereo and had been sure to have plenty of waltzing music on hand. In addition to the music, he'd brought two stacks of handouts, which he stacked neatly next to the stereo.

Tamaki smiled at everyone as they filed in, then bowed low in greeting.

"My fellow students and brand new hosts," he said cheerily, "Welcome to the Fandom High School Host Club's second ever meeting!" He smiled and gestured to the first stack of handouts. "First of all, I would like each Host to take a look at these basic lessons in etiquette. You will all be expected to behave like gentlemen while you are in the club! Do not forget," he winked. "I would also like all of you to see me when you have a moment, for I shall be taking costume theme suggestions for upcoming meetings." He turned to the guests. "I shall also take costume theme requests from the ladies, if they have any ideas," he added, with a disarming smile, "For their input is the most precious of all. Our aim is to delight!"

"As I mentioned in my e-mail earlier this week, you will all be learning to waltz today. A gentleman is graceful and light on his feet, Hosts," he said smoothly, sweeping his arm through the air as he spoke and stopping it in front of the second stack of papers. These are your dance step diagrams. Study them carefully, then choose a dance partner and give the waltz a try! I will be watching, and please do ask me if you're unsure. Give it your best effort! On occasion, the Host Club will have parties, and parties require dancing!"

After a moment, he grinned and cocked his head to the side, raising a hand to his chin. "I would like to add that I am also available to dance, and honored to do so, should any of the lovely volunteers feel lonely or wish to test my skill and grace."

He raised his hands and clapped them sharply, beaming with glee as he did so. "Begin!"

[OOC: Please wait for OCD is up. Post is here for everyone who loves to dance! The Host Club is seeking volunteers to waltz with the Hosts and the music room doors are wide open. Please come and dance with us!]

Annette held her hand out to him. "I think we can manage just perfectly. Just never mind my steel-toed heels," she teased.

"If you think you can keep up," he teased back, accepting her hand with a bow. "I think we can be good partners."

For the waltz. Totally, for the waltz. Yuh huh.

She moved in closer, one hand moving to his shoulder, the other held securely in his. "I love this, Jack. I'm glad I came tonight."

He placed his free hand on her waist, making sure it was well within the good guidelines, trying not to take in her scent. "I'm glad I could be of service," he said with a smile. "It's not often I get the company of such a beautiful woman."

It was part smarm, part Host Club playbook, and all Jack.

Annette's perfume was light, enticing; Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle was her favorite and she wore it exclusively. She blushed at his compliment and lowered her lashes. "Thank you, though I can say that it is not often I get to dance with such a handsome guy."

That just made Jack go all 'aw, shucks' inside. Aww!

"Pleasure's mine," he said, leading her on leading her around the floor to the beat. "I clean up nice, you think?" he asked, giving himself the once over. "Not compared to you, though. Must say," he said, leaning in closer to murmur in her ear, "that you don't look just as good last thing at night or first thing in the morning." He pulled back, blushing slightly. "Just in case you were in doubt."

"Yes, you do. You clean up very nice," Annette told him, looking him over as well as she could given their position in the dance. He surprised her by his next comment and while his words teased her ear, Annette felt her face flush warm. "Jack... thank you, but don't feel you have to keep complimenting me. It's not necessary." She bit her lip, noticed his blush, and added, "Unless you just like to because you're really making me feel good."

"No, it's...I...The club states that we should be polite, so I really shouldn't be saying some of it, but... it's true. And I like saying it. You're real nice, Annette. You just...seem a bit sad lately, and I don't like you sad." He danced for a moment. "Do you want me to continue? Didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. Was trying to make you feel good."

Oh, look, dancing. Dancing was good. Two people dancing, nothing more. Really.

She lowered her lashes. "I will admit to being sad lately, but I'm working on trying to change that. I... broke up with my boyfriend and am doing my best to get over it. I'm not uncomfortable," she gave his shoulder a light squeeze. "Honest... I just don't want you to think that I am the type of girl that has to have nice things said to me all of the time."

"It's good that you're comfortable," he said, squeezing her waist. "Comfortable is good. I don't know why we can't have these type things with bunny slippers or something, right? Dress shoes just aren't my thing. Just... I'm here if you need to talk. Or," he said with a rakish smile, "someone to watch some TV with."

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Bunny slippers would be nice. Not very effective for this dance but nice anyways," she said as she looked up at him. "Thanks, Jack. It's good to know and... I really like being around you."

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks. I...I like being around you too," he confessed. She's cute. "I hope you're not just using me for my TV watching ability. Not that I'm complaining," he said hastily. If he wasn't waltzing, he would have bowed. "I like TV." And warm beds to watch TV.

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes," she joked. "I am using you totally for your TV watching ability. Also for the snuggling. And the warmth. Totally just using you."

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh. Well, guess I'll just have to get used to it, then," he said with a smirk. It may have been masquerading as an innocent grin. Or an innocent grin masquerading as a smirk. "I'm a warm guy. I'm good like that."

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
She laughed and stepped in closer. "So what kind of rules do you guys have to go by in this club of yours?"

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
He pulled her in, careful to make sure his hand was still in the etiquette zone. "Whatever do you mean, Annette?" He was dancing. Really. That's all it was. Waltz. Any similarity to a lambada was purely imagined in Annette's mind. Totally.

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know," she said with a little shoulder shrug. "I'm sure there are certain kinds of rules you guys follow, isn't there? You are very well mannered... do you get points or something?"

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not sure," he admitted. "I'll have to ask Tomato when I get a moment. We're supposed to be gentlemen while at the Host Club, that much I do know."

"I can be a gentleman. See?" He went in for a bit of a dip.

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Tomato?" She giggled. "Don't you mean Tamaki?"

The dip was cute and she held tightly, just in case he thought to lower her further. "You are full of surprises, Jack."

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Yep, that guy. Omake. He's given us the rules, and now I just have to read and see what we're supposed to do as part of the club."

"Some surprises are good," he said, dipping a bit lower before returning her to her full upright position. "I'm not just a TV watcher. Not that I'm complaining. I like TV. Could get used to watching it."

No, he wasn't innuendoing anything. TV was good. And nice.

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Annette laughed lightly. Jack was very amusing and very good company.

"I'm not just a TV watcher either. I do other stuff... you know. TV can't be all that great on the brain. Or eyes. Yeah, I like surprises."

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll keep that in mind, should the situation come up," he said. "Care for another dip, m'lady?" he said, turning on the smarm charm a bit more.

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Dip away, kind sir," she giggled and let got of his shoulder, allowing him to hold her fully. See the trust here? Isn't it sweeeeet?

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] inthereflexes.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Very sweet. Jack dipped her, quite possibly even lower than before, and gracefully returned her to her feet. "You're a good dancer," he pointed out. "You've had lessons?"

Jack's watched a few movies, and there was that class back in gym, but...if he found an instructor, he could be decently good at it.

Re: Pair Up and Dance

[identity profile] misshargrove.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes, I've had lessons since I was a little girl. I know all the social dances as well as the Fox Trot and a few others. I love to dance, Jack."
