Newspaper Staff Meeting, 4pm FHT, Journalism Room

As always, there were coffee and pastries in the journalism room Thursday afternoon after classes.

Slightly more atypical, there was a note on the board.

Welcome to the Fandom Hightimes
There will be no dancing.

[OOC: Sorry about the lateness. Mother Nature deserves a punch in the face for all the snow.

New people (and people who didn't accept their invites for all of the characters you wanted added last semester), check your invites for

fhightimes.

ETA: Further apologies for falling asleep before anyone managed to ping in. Apparently a 2.5 hour commute makes me sleepy. I'm good to SP until whoever wants me to give them an assignment has one all good to go.]

"For anyone who hasn't been here before, you can feel free to come up with your own ideas for stories, or you can bug me for something. Please be warned, I have an odd sense of humor and I try to make the paper all about entertaining myself. So anything I suggest might be insane."

Jamie was glaring at his roommate. Still. He's full of glare.

"I could've kept hiding, you know," Peter said.

Rikku raise her hand. "Can we try annoying you?" she asked, as innocently as possible.

"If you do, you may end up stuck on a ceiling at some point in the future," Peter said. "But feel free to try."

"Can I bug you for something?" Anathema asked, though she had a few ideas.

"Of course," Peter said. "What would you prefer, an interview thing, an opinion piece, or something that you might have to actually do research for?"

"Hmmm...I'd prefer the opinion piece, but how badly do you need the interviews?"

"Not so badly that we can't give you what you'd prefer," Peter said. "Okay, we have a few options, in no particular order. First you could do an opinion piece on which Australian animals you personally think are the most dangerous. Or you can write something about the common rooms. Or if you have any other ideas, please, let's hear them."

"Kangaroos. Totally kangaroos." Anathema said with a straight face. "And that's why they're going to be the next invasion."

"I can only hope that you're wrong about that," Peter said. "Well, if you want to write about the dangers of kangaroos, I'll need the article by Tuesday night to get it into next week's issue."

"You got it." Anathema promised, ideas already going somewhere weird.

Oh, look, it's an adviser. An adviser who looked really happy about something.

And who also wanted to know why there would be no dancing.

Freaking snow.
