Criminal Justice (As Taught By A Criminal) - Period 3 - Monday 01/14

Why yes, yes Deadpool was sitting on the desk again today. But there were other things on the desk. Like a camera and a lot of paper. And ink.

Weird, no?

"Morning kids! Today we're learning about something very fun. Booking procedure. Or, ya know, the fun bits of it to me at least. Who wants to learn about lots and lots of paperwork, after all? Bo~oring!"

Hopping off the desk, he started to pace in front of the class.

"First up today is the mugshot. Or, as I like to call it, the best way to make or break a career in Hollywood by looking like a homeless heroin addict!" Deadpool shook his head sadly. "No one wants to end up lookin' like Nick Nolte or Hugh Grant, so I suggest practicing your look before they actually toss you in to get that picture taken. It'll be like modeling! With police! And crimes!"

Really.

Just like it.

"And second! Fingerprints. Which is just code for letting you kids run wild and free with paper and ink. Because no one really cares about learning about whirls and all stuff. You just want to get straight to the finding your classmates' finger prints so you can see if they're stealing food from the common rooms. Isn't that right? For shame, common room food stealer. Just go to Turtle&Canary and buy your own."

"Last of all!" He bounced on his heels, looking at the class. "Haley Joel, English Petey... Welcome to being my TAs. I expect you to rule with an iron fist."

He wasn't about to tell John that he really only wanted to see a bear because he had a most beloved teddy bear named Kuma-chan. He really was impressed by this kid's creativity, though!

He nodded thoughtfully. "I see, I see..." He sort of wanted to try it. He'd never done anything illegal, so he'd never been printed. Maybe it was time to immortalize his perfect princely prints on paper! "Might I give it a go?"

"Sure!" John said, pushing the ink pad and paper toward him. "Just be sure to roll your fingers really well in the ink." So maybe John had some experience with this.

"Hmm," Tamaki muttered thoughtfully, extending his right hand. He touched his slender fingers to the ink pad, rolling them as instructed until they were thoroughly blackened. Then, he pressed them against the nearest blank sheet of paper to create five elegant-looking fingerprints. Okay, so maybe they didn't look all that criminal, but they were a start, right?

Upon taking a moment to examine them, he realized that they lacked something. He rectified this by turning them into bunnies.

"Nice job," John said, watching Tamaki work. "First time taking your fingerprints?"

"Why, thank you," Tamaki said with a smile. "Yes, it is. It's kind of fun! By the way, I should apologize for forgetting my manners. My name is Tamaki Suou," he said enthusiastically, extending his hand for a handshake and then withdrawing it with embarrassment when he realized that it was still extremely inky. "Uh, and you are?"

"John Sheppard," he replied, raising his own ink-covered hand in greeting. "This is a pretty fun project given we're not actually going to spend the night in jail afterwards."

Tamaki laughed. "Why, have you ever had to do that before?"

"I could tell you," John smirked, "but then I'd have to kill you."

His face paled a little, but he laughed it off. He decided that his partner was far too good at fingerprint animals to terrify him.

He smiled. "Maybe some things are best left unsaid, then. So what do we do now that we've printed ourselves?"

John gave him a reassuring smile, "Fingerprints and mugshots done, I'd have figured we'd move on to the interrogation. Maybe we're just super fast learners."
