Advanced Negotiations

Sorry for my short absence last week. I was called to do some advanced negotiations of my own because Mace Windu parked in Chancellor Palpatine’s spot. Again.

So, as I have to catch up, let’s catch up on some real life events. The zombie attack of last month. Which methods did you feel worked best to thin the zombie horde. Which did you feel were least effective. What sort of preparedness would you have in case this happens again?

Mystique thinks about it a moment. "Sneak attacks and ambush were not very useful. More like huge amounts of force. Bulldozers. Or the Tick. Preparedness. Some seemed smarter than others, but a lot were just dumb. Maybe get people in one place and make access to it difficult, while scouts find out what got them moving?"

Shooting them in the head worked best. That and watering them down apparently. Least effective? Glaring and scathing sarcasm. Didn't do a thing.

Next time? Keep the brain-eating rotted flesh-bags away from the school. And if yu must bring them here? Tell everyone to aim for the head and keep the orange dude away from the water.

Again? Stupid Master Windu. He should know better, even if his ride is totally better than Palpatine's. It just leads to tears and pain.

Numbers and ingenuity really helped us, I believe, after students who didn't know what zombies were were made aware of their weaknesses and how they could be killed. Having different zones of weapondry also kept the zombies guessing, if they had brains to guess with. They didn't know what would hit them on the perimeter with the magical students and Professor Tick, and had a variety of surprises in store for them in the library as well. I think that the flooding of the school, while useful in the short term, has left us with the smell of zombie bits far longer than strictly necessary.

Next time? Roughly the same tactics, which will be able to be implemented more quickly now that everyone knows what to expect.

*shudders* And I'll avoid eating yearbook food. *smiles hopefully at Padmé*

*Wallace is here, but silent because he did not participate in zombie-hunting/fighting*

Rory chooses not to volunteer an answer, as the majority of zombie-fighting she participated in took place while she thought she was someone else.

Except, of course, for that damn frying pan thing.

Well, I wasn't involved in the zombie fight here but I was involved in a fight of my own that weekend. When fighting with inferi I find that fire is usually the best thing to keep them away from you. And to kill, aim for the head. That works best.
And next time? I hope to God there isn't a next time. If there is grab a cricket bat and whack those bastards in the head.

Personally, I found out that to fight en masse zombies, Cally's flamethrower was extremely handy. It's just too bad she forgot to wear any gloves. I ended up using a plain sword because it was a lot easier than constantly having to reload a shotgun in the middle of a crowd. I must add that the shotgun was very effective to blow up the lone zombie.

In the grand scheme of things, I think Ash's decision to head to the dorm tower and eliminate the source of the zombies was the most effective.

Least effective? I think negotation wouldn't have helped much in this instance. They'd just eat your brain while you're talking to them.

A sort of alarm would be nice to alert the students and I think the lifting of the weapons ban with restrictions is a good idea as well.

*shrugs*

I missed all the excitement. Maybe I'll get a chance to play another time.

The only things that worked with zombies was pure violance. I'm not sure it's actually possible to reason with beings that don't have brains and want to eat yours. Next time, we will be ready to organize better and have certain people in charge in certain places.

Working together. Those that were left out on their own for a while *winces* lost clothing.

Having a stockpile of weapons and ammo, as well as a defensible area.

Being organized, having med teams ready, having sharps groups and gun groups, as well as a line of supernatural types.

And finally, being able to run faster than those suckers!

After class

One his way out of class, Anakin dropped a note onto Padmé's desk.

Inside he'd written:

"We okay? Still very, very, very sorry.

Miss you.--A."

*signs in*

Well since I spent zombie weekend locked in my gorram *basement*... *not so subtle gesture toward where Jayne is* ((when he eventually gets here)) ... I wouldn't know what personally worked best on them. I did hear that Vera came in quite useful.

And as for preparedness, I think the basement is a good idea next time too. But not one that locks from the outside. Oh, and a more considerate roommate might be useful.

*signs in* She doesn't say anything because she wasn't there for zombie weekend. However, she is extremely fidgety and seems distracted by something.

Negotiations of course couldn't work, so shooting them and blowing them up worked quite well.
