"C'mon, Gulliver. Break's over, back to work." Grinning down at the disgruntled panduppy, Anemone juggled her thermos of tea, stack of books, and her key ring to open the library.

After sending Gulliver off to patrol the stacks, Anemone sat down and began checking in the items from the book-drop, occasionally stopping to flip one open and read the inside cover.

She's sipping her tea, reading through her personal (ragged) copy of Wizard of Oz ~~or whatever the meta is now that we have Liir and Glitch OMG~~ while Gulliver snoozes in her lap.

Anemone's got the handout from her government class yesterday, and is busy trying to figure out WHY humans need so many governments. If they'd just develop a shared consciousness, making decisions becomes a lot easier....

The bento box has been opened, Anemone's got her yakitori, and the library is now closed unless you're an aide or the Librarian. Or if you've brought Anemone a bribe. She'll take bribes.

She's looking at her class list for this semester, and cursing softly in Japanese. Someone at home obviously thought they were funny.

Anemone's wandering around the library, cleaning up for the end of the day. Gulliver has plopped himself down on the Circulation Desk, and is ready to burbble at you helpfully.

We must keep Special Collections from falling out!

No bribes, but a pot of fresh tea came out of the office.

And a librarian holding it, of course. The library wasn't that weird.

"Anemone?"

The library could be that weird, you never knew. After all, it was a Tuesday.

"Hai?" Anemone looked up from her onigiri, zeroing in on the tea rather than the stranger. Hey, it smelled good. "That's me. Can I help you?"

That was why he had brought an extra cup-- coffee mug.

"Ah, good. I will be your new librarian. A pleasure to meet you."

"Sir," she said, waving slightly. Right, new boss. Eek. "Hi! Um, would you like an onigiri?"

He smiled faintly, shaking his head. "I have already eaten. Would you like some tea? None of the other staff seems to care for it."

"That's because they're crazy heathens and think coffee is a food group, sir," she answered automatically. "Yes, please, I've already finished mine."

Not batting an eye at the automatic 'sir', He smiled again, pouring her a cup and then one for himself. "I was beginning to worry this place was far more strange than I thought. No tea."

"Heathens," Anemone repeated glibly, accepting the cup. "The Perk in town offers some nice teas, but the students are addicted to coffee."

"Don't worry," she said, sipping carefully. "You were correct the first time. This place is probably twice as strange as you thought. I think they broke my brain with the dinosaurs, and nothing else has really sunk in, yet."

"Yes," He nodded, sipping the tea calmly. "I had heard of a few of the more-- interesting stories. The former librarian was kind enough to leave me a letter on the unique nature of the Special Collections."

"I had an ostrich in here, once, and some wee knights, too." Anemone reached over to scratch Gulliver's head as the panduppy watched the new arrival. "If Ms. Next says it's true, then it probably is."

He nodded, taking in the information with a calm grace. "Should I retrieve a cup for your friend?" He asked, nodding toward the panduppy.

It never hurt to be polite.
