Marty tries to suppress laughter. He finds the thought of Angela getting into hijinx way too funny.

"I don't think you have anything to worry about House (http://www.livejournal.com/users/gotcanewillpoke/2120.html). I'd worry more about being forced to clean up around the squid." he says jokingly.

"Clearly I'm a corrupting influence on you and should be banned from campus. Just be glad you didn't get detention."

Angela shoots him a look.

"This isn't funny."

Then she cracks a smile. "Okay, it's probably funny if you aren't me or Parker or Zero or Joan. Or Hamlet. And ... it might even be a little funny for us. In many years, when we're far, far away from this school."

The mention of being banned from campus reminds Angela of something. "Did you talk to Bristow yet? He's even scarier than Sydney made us think."

Marty's smile fades a little.

"Not yet. I'm waiting for ~~him to respond to my post~~ his office hours to start. We'll see how that goes."

Marty fidgets a bit, uncomfortable with the thought but hoping it doesn't show.

"So... you said you found out some things from Phale?" he says quietly.

Angela nods, then looks around. The nook of study hall they're in seems private enough.

She takes a deep breath. "He couldn't tell me much," she says quietly. "He said he hasn't really dealt with, like, vampires. But he's doing some research. He says he will need to know more about the curse, too -- do you have enything about it in your, um, files? Oh, and he did something that made my necklace go all glowy."

Marty sighs.

"All I have on Angelus is some sketchy historical data that's attributed to myth and folklore. The only thing I know about the curse is what I learned from bugging his room. He's kept his mouth shut about it since talking with Draco. I don't know what you set to Phale, but you must have triggered something. I found this last night before I headed to Shane's party."

Marty holds up a set of keys to Phale's book shop.

"Phale asked me to take care of the bookstore while he's gone and mentioned in his note that he may have some information for us when he gets back. I can't get into his locked cabinets, but I'm thinking his weird little bookstore might have some of the information we may need."

Angela looks at the keys, a bit awed. "Whoa. That's ... incredible that he trusts you that much." She fidgets, chewing on her bottom lip. "I just hope I didn't make him, like, put himself into danger for us."

She thinks for a second. "You know who I bet would know about the curse? The other people who know him from California. Faith -- but I think she's still pissed with you and she might not help us anyhow -- and Buffy and Xander. I don't really know Buffy, but she seems nice. I was with Xander during the zombie thing, and he was pretty cool."

"Somehow I think Phale can take care of himself."

Marty nods in agreement.

"I'd stay away from Faith anyway since she and Angelus have... Well she's on the JA thing so I don't think she can be trusted. I've talked with Xander a couple of times and he might know a few things. I haven't even met Buffy. Wait... Wasn't Anya from the same place too? I saw her talking to Angelus that night like she knew who he was and she called him 'Angel'. She might be good to talk to as well."

Angela smiles, watching Marty think. "Yeah, Faith might be ... a little too close to Angelus." She tucks her hair behind one ear. "Um, I didn't know where Anya was from. It's weird I never see her, she's Rory's rooommate. I could say hi to her later."

Marty nods and plucks a chicken feather off his pant leg.

"Do you want to talk with Buffy too? If you've talked with her she may relate to you better than me. I'll talk to Xander." Marty says.

Hopefully Angela will keep away from Angelus' room that way.

Angela hesitates, but nods. "I mean, I've only talked to Buffy once. But I think she's in my journalism class, so I might be able to catch her after class or something."

"It's going to be a weird conversation," she continues. "Hi, I don't really know you, please tell me everything about this vampire?" She sighs. "But ... we have to at least try."

Marty mulls that over for a second.

"She and Angelus had a run-in with each other a couple of weeks ago. Maybe you could approach her with the fact he- ~~threatened you because I was a big stinkin' idiot.~~ uh nevermind."

"I heard on the radio that the beautification committee will be working to clean up campus today. I know we had plans, but if you need volunteers I'd be happy to help out."

Angela gives Marty an admiring look. "You know basically everything that happens on this campus, don't you? It's like dating the CIA. Or Dean Bristow."

"And thanks for the offer on the cleanup duty. I'm honestly not sure what's going on -- Zero and I are going to go see House after school, and then whatever happens, happens." She smiles. "Hopefully I'll get some time with you."

Marty smiles. ~~That sounds better than "It's like I'm dating a professional killer"~~

"Sounds good. I should be at Phale's bookstore after I meet up with Bristow. ~~If he ever bothers to respond~~ Leave me a message if you want to meet up and I'll track you down."

~~Is there really a difference?~~

"Okay. I'll give you a call."
