Journalism Class - Monday October 3

Spider is huddled over a large mug of something steaming, muttering darkly. He looks almost as if he's hung over, but with all the noise of the newsfeeds, he's not flinching, so perhaps it's something else.

The large screen behind his head has two words on it:

Beauty - Discuss

A smaller sign, tacked to his desk, reads:

Homework grading has been delayed. No homework this week.

Rogue stumbles in, still wearing the jeans from last night, the huge blue teeshirt she found this morning, and looking like death warmed over. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," she mumbles, then finds a desk in a quiet corner and promptly falls asleep.

Beauty is superficial based on looks unless you mean inner beauty and then I'd say yes inner beauty is important.

John takes a seat. "Beauty is...an autumn day, a supreme pizza, and football on the television. Beauty is snow, the Super Bowl, and things that make you smile." He blushes a bit and stammers, "uh, at least, to me it is."

To: Professor Jerusalem [spider.jerusalem@fandomhigh.edu]
From: George Lass [georgia.lass@fandomhigh.edu]
Subject: Broken

Hi, Professor.

I just wanted you to know that your field trip broke me, so I'm taking a day off. I'm sure you're surprised. I'll see you in class bright and early tomorrow morning.

Thanks,

George

Oz walks into the Journalism classroom and takes his seat. His eyes drift across the room. Beauty is apparently the topic of the day.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, he muses. What's beautiful for one person may be hideous and repulsive to someone else. There's no right or wrong, it's subjective.

For Oz, beauty is being able to look on a loved one's face when the full moon makes the features glow.

When Beka, far less hungover and far more introspective that she ought to be makes it to class, she sees Rogue which makes her wry. "Beauty is sleeping right over there. Had a bit of a rough nighty, Beauty did."

She sips at her coffee, keeping her eyes away from the brightest lights. "Beauty is pain. It's the thing you wish you could touch, but can only admire. A nebula you can't see if you get too close. Powers you wish you had, but can only learn about. A lover you can't keep."

Krycek is actually in a better mood than one might figure, coming in and dropping a neatly typed report on Spider's desk*. Noticing the professor's mood, he pauses by the desk, curious. "Sir?"

((*Report will be finished shortly after the actual trip is done.))

((Well, assuming that L-space dropped us back off earlier...))

Beauty is existence. What else can one say?

Veronica sits back and ponders the meaning of beauty. She doesn't see anyone she knows to actually discuss the concept with and she isn't sure she'd know what to say if she did.

Bleary-eyed behind dark glasses, D comes in with a steaming mug of coffee in one hand a note in her other. She gives the note (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v722/no_chocolate/FH/spidernoteoct305.jpg) to Spider and takes a seat.

Reading the screen she smirks into her coffee, "Beauty is me getting more sleep."

[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Krycek sees D and grins a little; despite being actually tired and sore and covered in bramble scratches still, he's in a good mood. Finishing at Spider's desk, he goes over to sit beside her. "Hey, you want a copy of that picture at the bramble wall?"

[identity profile] dbiers.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Still leaning with her face in her hands, D'anna turns to face Alex beside her. Cheeky bastard is actually grinning. She quarks an eyebrow over the top of her sunglasses and slowly grins slowly back at him, "After defending your virtue? I deserve the negatives."

[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Krycek looks smug, crossing his arms as he leans back in his seat. "Sure," he says easily. "Now that I'm done with them. Want to meet after class - or, actually, how about tomorrow? I'll buy in exchange for your Amazonian victory."

[identity profile] dbiers.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
D'anna snickers and runs a hand through her hair. "Sure, just let me know when and where."

[identity profile] krycek-rat.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Tomorrow, four, The Perkolator?" Krycek grins again at her assent. "See you then."

Beauty. It's the guts and brains and everything on the inside and it doesn't matter what anyone looks on the outside ever. Because if I said otherwise Carter'll kill me.

*is not here*

*but would undoubtedly prefer being here to his current location in the Sunnydale Bus Station, which is decidedly unbeautiful*
