Wednesday December 12 - 3rd period

Yondaime sat on his desk at the front of the room, looking relaxed as he normally did. "Today's going to be a review for you all to go over what we've done this term since next week is your final. It's covering a little bit of everything from the begining. So I want you all to study what we've covered. Work with each other as much as you want, the only notes you're allowed to have are your hiragana and Katakana charts."

That browsing of Amazon and ThinkGeek and Uncommon Goods that Anders was doing on his laptop?

Totally studying. Really.

What? Maybe he really was trying to translate stuff off those websites into Japanese in his head. It was completely possible.

Troy was madly going over his notes, certain that he was going to FAIL the final because ZOMG.

"Are you okay Troy?" Yondaime asked giving him an assuring smile.

"What? Oh, yeah, Professor," Troy said. "Why?"

[... I totally meant to ping you about Troy missing class, it is totally because I am made of fail. I had the post open in a tab and kept forgetting to come back and sign him in. >_< And then Firefox crashed and I lost the tab and forgot to open again. ^^;; Oops?]

"Just making sure, do you need any help with anything?"

Troy shook his head. "I, uh, ~~handwavily~~ got the notes from class last week. I... kinda ~~also handwavily~~ slept through class. I meant to come by and apologise..."

He's there to help! As always

Ino peeked into the classroom, right after the period ended, hoping to catch him before he left. "Yondaime-sama?" Kabu-chan burbled into her shoulder and she wiggled her fingers at the baby. "Do you have a moment?"

Yondaime glanced up at Ino... noticing the baby?

He was fairly sure that's what it was at least. "Uhh... sure Ino, what's up?"

It was totally a baby. Geez. She slipped into the classroom, and hovering at the back. "I just had a question actually." Ino made a face, "and I figured you'd be a better person to ask than Kabuto." Pause. "Well, that and he's avoiding me all this week so you're easier to find as well."

...Well that sort of response didn't put him on edge at all.

"Uhh... I would hope that I'm a better person to ask than him, what is it Ino?"

"He's good for a lot of questions actually." Ino couldn't resist saying, before continuing, "Do you think all ninja are psychopaths?" Straight to the point.

...That was an interesting question.

"To a point yes," he nodded. "Why else would we do the things we do? Why are you asking?"

"At work yesterday, this woman came by and we had a... difference in opinion about needing a license to own a gun. I don't get it - what's the point? It won't stop the people that want guns from getting them, and there's plenty of other ways to kill things." Ino shifted slightly, "And she said that I'd feel differently if I'd ever killed someone. I don't see why it would. Why would I think about the family of a ninja who'd tried to kill me? Why should I care? So I said that most people I knew got along just fine with killing people, and she said that we're psychopaths."

"Are you really okay with killing people Ino?" Yondaime asked, his face turning serious. "Do you really think there is nothing wrong with killing people?"

"I don't see a problem if they're trying to kill me." Ino said, frowning, "I mean, I'd never go and do it for, like... fun, or anything. And I don't know how I'd react - I've never done it before, but I don't think it'd be that big of a deal. Especially if it was for a mission."

"Don't say it's not wrong until you've done it Ino," he sad very seriously. "If you can, never kill. Even if they're attacking you, you incipaciated them if you're able," he shrugged. "Though accidents do happen. You never kill jsut because you can."

Ino stared at him. "Yamanaka jutsu are, like, made for killing people. Dad says I'll start being sent out on missions that use them that way not long after I make Chuunin." Never kill? How was she supposed to avoid that? "I mean, we've been pretty peaceful since you... uh... left, but... never kill?"

"I didn't say that Ino, I said don't just because you can, there are some situations where you can't get around it and I understand that. However." He paused and leaned back in the chair.

"My generation fought so that your didn't have to fight as much as we did." He might have had a pitying look. "I doubt that your father meant you to think that your jutsu is only good for killing people."

"I don't think that it's only good for killing people." Ino protested, bristling at both the pitying look and his implying that she'd ever just kill 'cause she could. "But that is one of the primary things it was designed for. That, and spying."

"Do you think killing is okay Ino?"

Ino spent a long moment readjusting Kabu-chan's position, and thought about that. She looked fustrated. "I don't know! Doesn't it all depend on the circumstances?"

"No," he shook his head. "It doens't depend, but we can talk about this again after you've actually had to take a life. In the mean time... why do you have a baby?"

She didn't get it, but didn't mind the subject change.

"Kabu-chan?" Ino said to the baby, "Meet Yondaime-sama." Needless to say, the baby didn't really react. "He's an assignment in Ethics and because Kabuto is a complete and utter jerk I'm stuck with Kabu-chan the entire time."

Boring, but GAH stressful day of OMG.
