Fandom Invasions Class #13 (Thursday, period 3)

The Danger Shop was made to look up some of the rockier parts of the Preserve at night when the students came in.

"Good morning," John greeted them. "We've covered zombies already, today we're going to cover another type of walking dead. Mummies.

"There was a mummy problem here about a year and a half ago. It started with someone reading from the wrong book -- which is more common in causing bad things to happen than you might think. Basically, if a book looks creepy, especially if it's in a language unfamiliar to you, discretion may be the better part of valour." He smiled slightly. "There's a reason we limit access to the special collections in the library.

"Anyhow, while trying to avoid inadvertently summoning bad things by reading the wrong book is the lesson I want you to take from this class, we're going to focus on what you have to do when something is summoned." John grinned wolfishly. "Namely kick its butt. Have at it as you would."

Jack raised the branch over his shoulder and waited for the mummy to get into range.

That lasted all of about 5 seconds before he brought the fight to the mummy, holding the branch like a spear or lance. And shouting, of course.

Eve briefly wondered if magic was allowed as a weapon. She decided that yes it was, given that John hadn't specifically said it wasn't.

Troy looked around for something that he could use as a weapon, finally settling on a hefty stick and some decently sized rocks that he thought he might be able to throw for some damage.

Troy whirled around, trying to get a focus on the skittering, but he was panicking just a little and couldn't get a fix, instead hearing it from all around.

Adam looked around for something to fight with. He figured the stick might work well.

Looking around, Adam took in his surroundings, wondering where the mummy might come from.

Valentine wasn't entirely certain what a mummy was, so he wasn't terribly worried. Much.

Fine, he was. Which was why he was searching for a large rock to hide under.
