"Hullo, class, hope your holidays went well." Rose said, she tilted her head, "Since not everyone was in for our last class I decided to postpone the test to next week." She handed out the handouts she gave last time, "So, here's your chance to study for the test. Basically it's about television and its effects on society."

"For now though, I'd love to hear your what your fave series are... if it's sci fi, drama or reality shows. No judgin' in this arena, honest." Rose smiled, "I'll go first, I love watchin' soaps, it's mindless fun and the drama's so over the top you'll have fun throwin' pop corn on the telly. But I also love watching documentaries from the Discovery channel and indulge on the occasional sci-fi series, particularly the classic Galaxy Quest." She turned a defiant look at her class, "And no movie is goin' to change that, yeah? Classic Galaxy Quest is the best."

She waited for any comments to die down then nodded to her class, "All right, you lot, it's your turn, what's your fave show, why and do you think the show has influenced your views?"

Gwynn was taking notes and writing down the shows that Rose was discussing.

Liz quietly took notes.

"What's your favorite shows, why and do you think the shows influenced your views in any way?"

"I... haven't watched many TV shows, but some of the guys bought ne these things called DVDs..."

"Not much TV?" Rose said in tones of amazement, "It's clearly a wrong we must rectify. Tell me, what sort of DVDs did your friends give you? Maybe I can add more to that?"

She smiled. "I have something called Steel Magnolias that I haven't watched yet, some stuff with dinosaurs and a lot about Robin Hood..."

"'S a good start," Rose said approvingly. "So, you into historical movies then?"

Gwynn nodded. "I'm from history so those were the first movies people gave me."

"Would you be interested in some science fiction?There are some great ones out there and I'm more than glad to introduce you to the movies."

Gwynn's eyes lit up. "Like other planets and starts and stuff?"

Rose grinned, "Yeah, other planets and such. Interested?"

"Yes ma'am."

"All right, next class we'll tackle science fiction, yeah?"

"I don't really have a favourite TV show," Liz said, "I haven't watched a lot of TV,"

"Really? Not even a soap? Or a documentary?" Rose asked, curious.

"I've seen some different genres but not enough to have a favourite show," Liz replied.

"Don't watch a lot of TV," Chad admitted, "but I got....Japan had these two cool shows, Carnivorous Kingdom and Spontaneous Trips. I liked them a lot. Here I watch a lot of, um," his eyes shifted slightly under his hair, "modeling shows. They influence me a bit more. They're preparing me for my career."

Rose smiled, "Hey, modeling shows are fun, I'm not going to take that away from you."

Well naturally, Robin's favorite show was The Muppet Show, which had had an enormous influence on him. "Uhhh," he tried to think of a different show. The Muppet Show might not count.

"Go on," Rose said patiently, "Any show would do."

"Well I'd have to say The Muppet Show." he said. "I'm biased, but it is still my favorite, and it's influenced me quite a bit."

"Human television isn't worth my valuable time," Blackheart growled.

Rose raised an eyebrow, "All right, what's got your knickers in a twist this time?"

Rose is there prepared to defend Classic Galaxy Quest, because Classic is Best.
